Luce Line Trail

Hello Old Friend!!

September, 2026 by giroirchristine218

I grew up in Plymouth with the Luce line behind my house. When I was little, I still remember the trains going by and in middle school we’d run down the tracks to the trestle on Gleason Lake and go fishing or jump off into the lake. I remember when they pulled the tracks up and turned it into this walking path. There were still gravel pits on the opposite side and now it’s all townhomes. This trail has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My office now sits on the trail on the other side of Parker’s lake. I live in southern Wright County, and I can access the loose line trail 9 miles to south. It’s a great trail. It’s quiet well maintained and it’s like walking through the woods.

Grand Rounds Scenic Byway

Great way to experience Minneapolis

August, 2026 by mertz1995

Great network to connect the lakes and parks around the city. Lots of places to stop for a bite or a drink. We biked around the chain of lakes which was beautiful, but be prepared for one-way bike trails around the lakes.

Beaver Islands Trail

St Cloud State Uni to Clearwater

August, 2026 by kreider.mark

A fantastic trail from the St Cloud State campus all the way to and through Clearwater. Very smooth from St Cloud, a little rough on the way into Clearwater. Much longer than expected.

Mississippi River Greenway (Dakota County)

I was traveling north from Hastings and the trail was closed at the lock. Made for a short trip.

Brown's Creek State Trail (Willard Munger State Trail)

Very Pleasant Ride

August, 2026 by tedijw

Although quite busy for a Sunday morning (which is a good thing to see the trail being used!) it was a wonderful paved trail. We also did the St Croix Loop section and really enjoyed the views of the river. As we were new to this trail, we loved all the signage explaining the historical references of the area/trail. Very appreciative of the clean bathrooms! Super nice trail we would definitely do again if in the area.

Minnesota River Bluffs LRT Regional Trail

Southern end of trip has been rerouted

July, 2026 by askrens

Note: The south end of the route between Chaska and Carver has been rerouted. The TrailLink map is no longer accurate. The trail now runs through downtown Chaska and will cross the Minnesota River at the new bridge. Signs are scarce in this section.

Mississippi River Regional Trail (Anoka)

Not complete yet, but promising

July, 2026 by askrens

The trail is incomplete in several sections, and route you through some neighborhoods and along some busier roads. There is also a construction project by Coons Dam without a very good reroute available. (Summer 2026) but we look forward to writing her again.

Shingle Creek Regional Trail (MN)

Overall a good trail

July, 2026 by askrens

The southern end is a bit rough; the middle is not marked very well; and the northern end for ollows the road. But it’s a great link to the Rush Creek Trail, has some beautiful views, and is shaded part of the way.

Gateway State Trail (Willard Munger State Trail)

very disappointing

June, 2026 by stevecb

Apparently there’s an initiative to repair the west half of this trail pending legislative approval. We rode this trail from Stillwater yesterday and the couple miles on either side of 694 was very hard on my bike and body with all the cracks. We turned back at north St. Paul - too bumpy -hopefully repairs can be done on this beautiful tree canopied trail.

Kenilworth Trail

New Kenilworth Trail completed

June, 2026 by christopherolley

Rode past The Stone Bridge, took the Cedar trail and merged into the Kenilworth trail. Wasn't paying attention, thought I was on the N Cedar Trail, but missed the turnoff. The new paved trail looks great and brings to the doorstep of the lakes area. SO many trees were planted next to the lite rail system.

So thankful for the investment.
