Elm Creek Park Reserve Trails

good one!

July, 2021 by kj2train

Slight rolling hills. Great meadow and tree lined trails. Not a lot of people. If you take the loop around it is about 14 miles. The pathway is super smooth. Highly recommend!

Elm Creek Park Reserve Trails

Easy to get to from other trail systems

July, 2021 by lmmathis

Great views of meadows and water. Lots of delightful benches. A great swimming pool/lake to take a dip and buy some ice cream in the summer. Coming from the south I took the Medicine Lake Regional to get here and the the Rice Lake local trails out. These trails added some nice distance (though not as perfectly smooth) to the 20 without ever biking on a street.

Luce Line Trail

Hutchinson to Silver Lake

July, 2021 by adsaxs

We road out-and-back from the Masonic West Riverside Park campground in Hutchinson to Silver Lake which is approximately 20 miles round trip. The trail is fully paved in this section . It is a combination of shade and full sun as the trail meanders through cornfields.

The trail could use a little maintenance in certain sections. There were tree roots and wide cracks across the path but overall the trail in this segment was pretty good. It felt like a slight uphill grade to Silver Lake so we enjoyed a bit of a downhill back into Hutchinson. A few benches along the way but no other amenities except for Hutchinson.

Hutchinson has a number of parks along the trail with benches and sculptures which are very nice. I would recommend this trail.

Medicine Lake Regional Trail

Nice trail - more hills than you might have expcected

July, 2021 by david.preston1

We really enjoyed this trail on our E-bikes. A lot of lakes and woods to enjoy. We started at Medicine Lake -- a lot of the first quarter or so is a bit bumpy. Some long hills you might want to be aware of. Once you get to the end of the trail at Elm Creek it is another couple (?) miles before you get to any facilities. The trail was well marked, I have seen other reviews saying it wasn't. It was a nice 40 mile ride on a hot day.

Luce Line Trail

gravel road mostly

Mostly gravel. Good ride. Road bikes watch out , if they are not made for gravel. Overall good, did 100 miles round trip from Schaper Park. Next time I will start at mile 0 of Luce Line State trail

Paul Bunyan State Trail

Fabulous Ride

June, 2021 by jmclincoln

Just completed the Paul Bunyan Trail from Brainerd to the end of the paved path at the Blue Ox Trail. The trail is in pretty good shape and wends it’s way through small, friendly towns for the most part. Most bike accommodating is Bemidji with trails around town and out to the State Park. Least bike accommodating is Walker. Soulshine Bike Shop in Hackensack has a reasonably priced shuttle.

Luce Line Trail

Paved Sections

June, 2021 by amosvo15

Coming from Minneapolis, once you near the city of Winsted, the paved section of the trail is very pleasing. Smooth, clear of debris and beautiful nature signs along the way to the rest of the trail. The cities along the entire trail offer food, restrooms, campsites and the amenities you might need. Well shaded trail due to the abundance of trees on the sides. Yes time to ride this trail is when it is dry, especially for road cyclist.

Lake Independence Regional Trail

Goes through woods and farmlands & connects to Luce Line Trail

June, 2021 by gladbrook33

Lovely trail north through Baker Park Reserve and then parallels Hwy 19.
Pass by scenic farms & thru little town of Loretto. At end of trail, turn west bordering Crow -Hassen Park Reserve. When the paved trail ends, turn right to see the historic bridge in Hanover. Little of the original town remains, but the old River Inn is worth a stop.
Heading south from Baker Park Reserve follow the signs leading you thru Orono and the Trail Head for the Luce Line

Paul Bunyan State Trail

spring 2021

We began the trail in Baxter and went all the way to Bemidji and back. There were parts that were better maintained than others but on the whole we’d give it 5 Stars! Good signage and the website was helpful for distances between towns. I highly recommend this trail.

Elm Creek Park Reserve Trails

Very well paved with some rolling hills as other reviewers have mentioned. The trail is gorgeous as it passes over fields and under trees. Easy to moderate difficulty.

Rum River Regional Trail

short but sweet

March, 2021 by billt806

This trail follows the edge of the rum river from just North of Anoka HS to the mouth of the Mississippi River. It is curved with lots of up and down. Note the three Cottenwoods that marked a bend one river around half way. They are reminders of the the old paper mill days.

Great Northern Trail

my go to trail.

March, 2021 by dgp13123_tl

This is my daily ride trail. Only two miles from where I live. Very well maintained. I’ve seen as many as 12 deer during an early morning ride. Love the fact it has now been extended to Zimmerman.
