I didn't read the reviews on hilly the trails are. It was exhilarating!I enjoyed this trail. Just make sure that you have good brakes on your bike!
I ride on this path once or twice a year, starting on the Noonday Creek Trail off of Bells Ferry that connects to it. It's a bit confusing as maps don't show it connecting to the river, I guess it is other paths it connects to.
From the mountain to Marietta is a nice section. The tight area another reviewer mentioned is the ramp to a pedestrian bridge crossing, it makes a 180 turn which requires some precision riding. The path goes along the railroad tracks just off Marietta Square. There is often an art exhibition along the path at this point.
As you continue, you end up alongside a cemetery and there isn't an actual path section at this point but you just ride up the road out of the cemetery. Continue straight and the path picks up again. At this point, the path is very underutilized. It connects to Atlanta Rd and follows alongside Dobbins, finally reaching Windy Hill Rd. It then continues to downtown Smyrna, where I like to stop for something to drink.
Beyond here, I haven't ridden in awhile but the path takes a left and goes up Spring Street. You then go around Cumberland Mall and you can connect to a path that goes down 41 to the river or a path that connects to the Bob Callan Trail, which goes to the River.
There are a lot of busy road crossings and driveways entering/exiting commercial areas so be careful, especially of right turn on red drivers who don't look or speed up past the stop line. This is a suburban route without a lot of hammerfest sections.
BTW, all but the first photo are not the M2R, they are pics from within Kennesaw Mountain Park and do not allow bicycles.

Effective April 16th 2026, the segment of the Southside Beltline between Glenwood Avenue and Boulevard is open. Though some of the ramps connecting the neighborhood streets to the Beltline aren’t yet finished. The remaining segment between Boulevard and the 75/85 underpass expects to complete within the next couple months.
Parked on Main Street in Pine Mountain, the trail starts there. Rode the 13 miles to the end. Trail is in great condition. Long uphills, then long downhill. Benches along the way but no facilities. The trail goes thru the town of Hamilton & you can stop @ the Chamber of Commerce. We’ve ridden 27 other trails in Florida, my husband says thus is one of his favorites
… between Wieuca and Loridans roads. Note that the extension starts west of Ga 400, making it necessary to cross the bridge over 400 from the previous end east of 400. Well-shaded route through a valley to cross under 400 and a creek en route to Loridans. Still no markers to navigate through the Tower Place area between Peachtree & Lenox roads. Inquire locally for details.
The Old Town Conyers Trail is such a hidden gem! It’s a nice, easy trail that’s perfect whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, a light workout, or just some time to unwind. There’s so much beautiful nature to take in along the way — from the trees to the quiet surroundings, it really gives you a chance to slow down and enjoy the moment. Definitely a great spot if you want something low-impact but still refreshing and scenic. I’ll absolutely be back! ¿¿
Visited because we were in town for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Should have looked at the trail here on TrailLink before attempting. Short version: entrances to the trail were blocked, and what we were able to get to was overgrown, or lined with construction or trash, or occupied by people in tents. The new road bridge over the river has a good wide path, but we didn’t proceed down the ramp back to the trail for more of the reasons stated above. I don’t know if the current condition of the trail is solely the fault of the construction or what. But I’m sure the trail advocates in Macon are devastated… it’s clear there was a big investment at some point that has completely fallen off. So disappointed. I hope there’s a new wave of clean up, trail construction and restoration soon.
Parked in Old Starsville Rd parking lot. Rode to Mansfield and back. About half the trail. It is pretty flat very nice ride. This is very nice, shaded, and paved. Will definitely ride again
The Harris Greenway could be thought of as three connected trails: the newer section at Harbins, the section at Tribble Mill, and the suburban connection in- between. This middle section is less scenic, but it is arguably the most important as it provides access for the high school and all the neighborhoods to two very nice parks. As a previous reviewer noted, there’s a full loop around the lake at Tribble Mill, and while it’s hilly and curvy, it’s mostly shaded. The surface here is asphalt, and is buckling in some places, but staff have made significant effort to mark these small hazards (as of early fall 2025 when I rode). Tribble Mill has all your standard park amenities and is a great place for a picnic if you’re starting from the other end of the Greenway. The suburban connector has a big hill down to the river, so if you’re not on an ebike, get ready for exercise! The side towards Harbins Park is newer, with rolling hills, a lovely boardwalk and more neighborhood connections. Harbins Park, while lacking the focal point of a lake that Tribble Mill has, is a nice park in its own right. There’s also another couple of miles of paved trail between all the mountain bike trails, and while it’s hilly, it’s completely shaded. I took my ride and pictures in early fall 2025. I meant to share them sooner since this trail had not received as much attention on TrailLink… but people are definitely out using it! I wound probably deduct half a star because I think more could be done to separate/protect the suburban section from the busy road, and there could be better wayfinding at the Tribble Mill section. But the Harris Greenway— with its connection to two nice parks — is a great trail. I drove over from Athens to check it out, and I’m glad I did!
