Sugar River State Trail

OK in 2020

May, 2020 by johnson842

Rode from Monticello to Albany on my older mountain bike. No issues with upkeep. Great scenery and didn’t pass many other people on a holiday weekend.

Family Bike Ride

May, 2020 by hrickdourian

This was a great trail... We went as a Family, our youngest is 5 and oldest is 7. We all enjoyed it, make sure to spray deep woods off Ana you will be fine. Some flooded areas that you will have to climb around, a few minute on the rail road track won’t hurt anyone.

Illinois Prairie Path

Love This Trail

May, 2020 by garthliebhaber

I think we are lucky to have this regional trail which has created network of other trail offshoots. I have no complaints, the general shadiness of the trail provided by trees is nice. I’m excited to make it my summer goal to ride the whole trail. It’s a nice gesture to be able to ride out to Aurora, Geneva or Elgin and take the Metra back, Just one note, bring plenty of water as the water fountains are closed during the COVID quarantine.

Millennium Trail

great trail for the right bike

May, 2020 by mjornig

Great trail but it is mostly crushed stone, careful with the thin tire hybrids

Cheese Country Recreation Trail

Great trail

May, 2020 by r4g3.vlogs

I was hesitant to drive this far (about 2 and a half hours since I live in marshfield area.) because I have been disappointed with all other ohm trails. Was a great ride for me and my dirtbike. No sand was great and I highly recommend it to all dirtbike riders of all skills.

Great Trail

New to pleasure biking. This path provided some great views and sights. In general the path was great and well worth the drive to get there.

Fox River Trail (IL)

Rode the Entire trail in one day

May, 2020 by lokiscoffee

I made a round trip on this trail today to totaling about ~91 miles in 9 hours (including all the detours and avoiding flooded areas). Although it was easy to navigate for someone who has good common sense on how a trail should continue, I have a feeling it could be challenging for those who don’t do trails often. More signs for direction/warning around flooded areas should help. Anyway, it was a gorgeous ride and there’s a cow farm along the way.

Illinois Prairie Path

good path

May, 2020 by maxrsmith321

I enjoyed riding on the path, but what I didn’t enjoy is how easily it flooded and how much access water there was on the path. As long as you go when there hasn’t been rain, it will be a great time!

Jane Addams Trail

Highly Reccomended

April, 2020 by kebunsha

Now that I have several to compare with, this trail is one of the finest. I generally only walk with my dog on it. The Orangeville BP Boco is a great place to stop for a snack, it has a sub/pizza counter and your can go back to the picnic shelter along the trail. Between O ville an Brush Creek Road, there is a butterfly nature preserve that was donated. I think its about 30 acres or more. The path is very well maintained. I generally do about 7 miles round trip per walk. Parking in O ville w/ porta potti, Buena Vista, Red Oak w/porta potti, Cedarville.

Great Trails For Terra Trikes

April, 2020 by 1jrswitz

I ride a 3 wheel Terra Trike. I began in Wauconda, IL & rode north to Round Lake and then back down Fairfield Rd to Gilmer to the bike trail. Did this 4/10/20. Totaled 27 miles and 3 hours. Got a great workout. Am 70 years old, am 6’1”, weigh 290. So got a great workout on very scenic trail. Well maintained. Great topography. Thank you Lake County Forest for providing a lot of various trails!
