Old Chain of Rocks Bridge

Rode the Chain of Rocks Bridge ¿¿

July, 2020 by harrdarw

Parked on the Missouri side. Nothing “bad” happened, as is hinted by some comments and advisories. Nice bike ride, and I will be going back.

Meramec Greenway Trail

This has got to be the most ridiculous trail around. It's broken up and spaced out so far you almost have to drive a vehicle to reach section. Not to mention hope short each section is. The 20+ mile trail distance is VERY misleading.

MCT Confluence Trail

Terrible Trail

July, 2020 by elmarsh13

Rode this today July 13, 2020. Too many stop signs and not paved all the way. Truly disappointed as I was expecting a more pleasant paved trail.

Eagle Points Trail

Straight, Flat and Barren

July, 2020 by lundquik2

I took my family here hoping to see an eagle or two. The trail was straight, flat and barren. We rode the trail about half it’s length and seeing nothing we turned around and went back to find a better trail to ride for the day.

MCT Ronald J. Foster Heritage Trail

a lot of fun on a hot day.

Trail is in great shape. I was surprised to see a nice contingent of riders on a very hot week day.

St. Louis Riverfront Trail

Nice Paved Trail But Isolated and Industrial

July, 2020 by gabcshack

From the Arch area Biddle St, trail is primarily industrial, brushy and isolated along the levy wall, opens up a bit along the River, but tall grass keeps Mississippi hidden, as you get closer to chain of rocks bridge, pavement and scenery improves, biking across bridge was great, stop enjoy the view, overall great trail, be careful, ride with a friend, parking downtown can be challenging due to current construction.

St. Louis Riverfront Trail

A different kind of trail

June, 2020 by bigdealer

I usually ride on the MCT trails (across the river in Illinois) for their natural woodlands and wetlands. But I like to ride this trail at least once a year because of its more gritty, industrial and urban views. There will always be something going on (construction, minor flooding, etc.), but that's what I like to experience. Usually, you can make a long (~20 mile) loop that takes in both sides of the Mississippi, crossing the McKinley and Chain of Rocks bridges. But check to make sure the loop is completely open (currently it is not, because of bridge construction).

Columbia Bottom Trail - Missouri River Greenway

Went through the trail, got about a mile in before deciding that it was just too broken, lots of sections that couldn't be traversed with a city bike. Mountain bikes would be better, but still some sections your going to have to walk them.

Richland Creek Greenway Trail

Great leisurely trail

June, 2020 by tyler.tappendorf

I really enjoy riding this trail starting at Old Collinsville Road. I find the description above a bit confusing. It's described as "discontiguous" but you would never know that when riding, except for about 100 feet where the trail goes on a quiet neighborhood street. The path is clearly marked and crosses 161 with a push-button to stop traffic. Very foresty and leafy for the first half, before merging with the Metrolink trail for a short section (turn right and right again), then it goes down toward Belleville. Fairly flat and easy to ride with lots of cute parks to go through.

Riverwoods Trail - Missouri River Greenway

This trail has a lot of potential

June, 2020 by cmoss95events

I took my kids on this trail and they enjoyed it. I was a sunny day but the trail was mostly shady in some parts which was nice. I was disappointed to find that the trail is really closed due to river erosion. I hope that the agency(s) involved with this trail will work on fixing it and restoring the 'loop'.
