White River Greenway (Muncie)

Enjoyable, easy trail.

May, 2018 by Jeffstov

Just rode this trail last week. I parked at the Cardinal Greenway lot at the former C&O station at the east end of E. Wysor St. I started on the Cardinal Greenway east to E Jackson St, went across the bridge and then left onto the White River Greenway. The trail was in excellent condition. It is basically flat with a few small grades up to street level. Scenic with some wildlife, mostly birds. A nice stop is Minnetristra, the former Ball family estate. Beautiful buildings and gardens. On the return trip I went back on the Cardinal trail from McCulloch Park to the train station.

This is a great short trail. I take my grandsons there often. The next section of trail is now open, adding about 1 mile to the length heading northeast.

Cardinal Greenway

great well used trail

October, 2017 by max.garrett

This trail I thought might be sketchy in quality and safety, but I was pleasantly surprised and I thought (at least in the muncie area) it was safe and well maintained. I would not hesitate to ride this again. Now I am not an avid road cyclist, but compared to other trails I've seen this one is superb. Cant wait to ride this again.

Wolf Creek Trail (OH)

Wolf Creek

September, 2017 by jwelhwel

This is about a 25 mile flat ride from Verona to Trotwood, OH. I like the location of this trail. If you are going to or from somewhere on US 70 it's easy to get off in Brookville do an easy 25 and continue on your way.

The name is a misnomer I've never seen a wolf or a creek on this ride! If you start in Verona just park on the street or at the grain elevator there is no formal trail head. Well kept trail, nice country scenery good restaurant, near nice motel in Brookville. You can leave your car there or in the lot across the street.

I plan to extend my next ride by taking some of the side country roads, little traffic, much to be explored.

Wilbur Wright Trail

Excellent for walking or biking

July, 2017 by kittyvista

I use this trail often and enjoy watching the seasons change along the trail. It is paved and well maintained, and the scenery is quite nice. It's a very family friendly trail, and I've encountered many parents pushing strollers and people walking their dogs. There are plenty of benches along the trail, so even those people just starting a walking or biking regimen have the chance to rest.

Fall Creek Trail (IN)

Beautiful in areas

April, 2017 by kgremosindy

I only give it three stars for a variety of reasons even though portions of the trail are beautiful to ride on. We ride this trail frequently as part of our commute to work in downtown Indianapolis. The north section of trail between Skiles Test Park and 56th Street/Emerson is very nice. It has fairly new asphalt, sits up out of the flood plain, and is wide enough to provide for safe passing of pedestrians. The southern section of the trail from approximately Fall Creek Pkwy and Allisonville Rd to Fall Creek Pkwy and Central Ave is also in good shape but you have to cross the river via the 38th St Bridge (on the busy road or on the pot hole/light pole filled sidewalk). The trail currently dead-ends at Central Avenue due to road and bridge work. The portion of trail between 56th/Emerson and Allisonville/Fall Creek needs a major upgrade. It is narrow, bumpy, curvy, and floods or holds water when it rains. Because it is within the flood plain, silt tends to collect which makes for slick going after a rain event. Once this section is upgraded and they finish the 38th St Bridge crossing it will be a very nice trail to the near northeast side. It will be even better if they ever continue it all the way downtown.

Indianapolis Cultural Trail

Fun Urban Trail

April, 2017 by arblady32

I rode and my daughter ran the Cultural Trail in September 2016. It is mainly a large square around the downtown area with a few branches which in some cases connect with other trails (the Monon and Pleasant Creek Trails). We found the trail to be very well marked and easy to follow with many opportunities for stopping at a cultural venue or a quick bite to eat or to relax at an outdoor park. A highlight of the trail is the portion that dips below street level along The Canal and connects with the White River Wapahani Trail which goes by the Indianapolis Zoo. The trail is easy to negotiate and quite flat. That said, this is not the trail for a training ride as there are many streets to cross and the trail is shared in some places with walkers occasionally making for crowded conditions. It is a trail very well-suited for a leisurely ride with easy access and parking, and definitely rates very highly among urban trails.

Cardinal Greenway

Kirk Lucas 3/25,26/17

March, 2017 by kirk 1

I rode the trail from the Super 8 motel in Gas City which accommodated parking my vehicle there for the overnight. The road portion was OK but GPS is pretty much a requirement. I rode the trail on a fairly heavily laden touring bike to The Seldom Scene Meadow B&B. Leighanne was a great hostess and the place is very nice. The Cardinal is a very fast trail and was in great shape for early in the year. Lots of twigs on the trail but that is to be expected on a rail trail. There are places to reprovision water and snacks near the trail all the way. The only thing I didn't care for about about this ride were the many busy road crossings and the presence of busy highways nearly the length of the ride. Everything else about this trail is exceptional.

Monon Trail

Best trail I've seen yet!

March, 2017 by erob_stbc

This is one great trail! My favorite so far in Indy. Lots of water, bathrooms, people, scenery. I run it every chance I get when I'm in Indy. I live in Lake County and our trails suck compared to the Monon!
