A new section has been completed that fills the former gap between Dexter-Huron Metropark to Delhi Metropark on the Huron River.
There's some gorgeous scenery with a great round trip and a smooth ride.
This is a pretty hilly trail with few stretches of flat, level terrain.
It's not bad, but really only worth it if you're a local.
It's a mostly shady trail, with a few moments of sunshine to be found. The trail becomes very narrow and twisty south of m59, so be careful in this section.
Sad to say it's been over a year, and the best section of this trail is still closed. It was a great connection to the Macomb Orchard Trail. Any info on a fix would be greatly appreciated. Would like to help out in any way possible.
Detour route has heavy traffic.
We ride this trail on a beautiful fall day. It is very smooth and suitable for most any bike. I was comfortable on my ride bike and the wife was fine with her hybrid. Trail is heavily shaded in most place. Scenery is mostly wooded, with some wetlands and meadows mixed in. I would recommend this ride !
Very enjoyable ride from Whitmore Lake to Pinckney. Some of the nicest scenery in the area. Can’t wait to go again.
Very nice ride in beginning trail is bumpy needs repair up by s.v.s.u the loop is not marked at all couldn't fine the hole loop all nice ride ¿
We parked at the Frank N. Anderson Nature Center parking lot on State Park Road. Took the rail trail into Bay City State Park. There are plenty of places to bike ride in Bay City State Park, which offers beautiful views of Saginaw Bay. Within the park are several nature trails that are paved and bicycles are permitted. We stopped at the visitor center for trails maps. The best trail within the State Park was the Tobico Marsh trails which was on an old rail bed. There was a spur off of it which was gravel but took us up to an observation tower. Plenty of parking areas and nature trails. A lot of pretty scenery.
We accessed this trail from the connecting Saginaw Valley Trail. Thomas Township trail is a short but sweet trail. The asphalt appears to be recently sealed and is very smooth. Scenery is zero shade though open farmlands and a tree farm. At Gratoit Road there are several eateries. We enjoyed our ride along this trail.
