Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park

Three of us rode this trail in 4 out and back rides. There are several waypoints along the way where I met my companions over several rides. Very smooth and easy riding since it's a rail trail and is well maintained by Pinckney Recreation area.

Michigan Air Line Trail

Walked it when it was still a railroad!

I used to live right off of 14 Mile Road, West West Maple in Walled Lake back in the late 90's and used to walk the railroad when it was still a working railroad. My wife's niece and I road its Memorial Day weekend (May 2026) and it was a great rail-trail. Definity worth your time, that bridge is tough to get over.

This trail is a comfortable ride and pays off when you get to the old railway bridge.

Macomb Orchard Trail

Thank you!

July, 2026 by mwskibike

Thank you to whoever removed all the downed trees on the Macomb Orchard Trail west of Armada! Now if we could get the county to trim all the overhanging branches and vegetation from the trail.

Macomb Orchard Trail

Still needs maintenance

July, 2026 by mwskibike

As I said a year ago, this trail needs maintenance. Trees and bushes need to be trimmed. Sinking pavement needs fixing. Trail is getting rough in spots - assume from under trail tree roots. I trimmed a bunch of overhanging branches (and got "Thank You" from about 6 people), but no way can I trim all the branches from the whole trail.

I rode this trail on July 11, 2026. Note: Beginning of trail is closed. Trail needs maintenance, looks like it has been neglected. Over hang needs trimmed, some areas bumpy. All in all a good ride. Signage would help a lot.

Southern Links Trailway

Very nice trail

Definitely worth doing. There are frequent road crossings and it is very straight. More trail diversity would be better. Cute towns along the way.

Kettering Gateway Trail

Connector Trail

I'd only use it to jump onto Genesee Valley Trail myself, otherwise I'd recommend skipping it.

pickney trailhead

June, 2026 by koerber.anamami

Parked in pickney. Turn left vs right. Stopped so much going right. Left had a few crossroads woth major traffic then it went to a park, but also gravel. Still was nice. Just prefer trails that aren’t stop and go. Decent shade coverage.

I-275 Metro Trail

Trail closure

June, 2026 by egrif

The trail is closed in the construction zone of M14. I found my way back onto the trail north after taking a couple sideroads from Hines and Northville roads. The trail from here is pretty crappy but serviceable until 8 Mile, where it has been redone. Smooth ride from 8 Mile north.

Border-to-Border Trail

The part that's open is nice but it is closed from Dexter to Dexter-Huron Metropark.

Bridge to Bay Trail

Needs a ton of work!

June, 2026 by trish.mcclanahan

Rode from Marine City and turned around way before we made it to St Claire. Asphalt is laid in maybe 10 yard sections. So there is a seam between every section causing the brain to rattle every 10 yards. Most of the trail was in the sun along a busy road. New to MI and had hoped to find the trail hugging the river a bit more to see the tankers. Also, the lack of signage made it very confusing causing us to stop several times to consult the map.
