Wolf River State Trail

Wolf River Trail

November, 2025 by mawebs54

This is an amazing biking and walking trail for all skill levels. I love walking this trail with my family and friends. My grandkids are all age ranges and even the littlest enjoys these walks. The flora and fauna are beautiful in all seasons and the gorgeous Wolf River runs next to it. I recently had a hip replacement and the trail is so well maintained I have no fear of hitting a snag and taking a tumble. The solitude of the forest, the bird songs and river sounds make this a treasure. I highly recommend all walkers and bikers to explore this treasure.

Wolf River State Trail

Beautiful and perfect for our walking club

November, 2025 by mjpeters53

Our walking club walks this trail frequently due to the scenery and easy walking to bridges that overlook Nine Mile Creek and the Wolf River. We have all ability levels ages 26 to 76. We’ve seen turtles, eagles, wild flowers and we can eat blackberries along the way. We love this trail and hope to keep it non motorized. It is a gem.

State Line Trail

I tried out the trail in Watersmeet. Even my 700c by 45mm gravel tirees were no match for the loamy rutted ATV trail that was full of wash board bumps. The trail is so rough, even the local ATVers use the road instead wherever they can.

Apple Blossom Trail

Side Note..

September, 2025 by the_masseuse

Forgot.. it’s quite hilly! ¿ Curvy too.. The asphalt in Caspian is a bit rough but the trails are worth it!

Apple Blossom Trail

Beautiful

September, 2025 by the_masseuse

I’m not sure why there’s no reviews for this trail, but it’s very pretty with lots of history. It seems short, but on the Caspian end it hooks up with Heritage Trail taking you to Pentoga Park. It’s just over 9 miles one way. Very scenic and pretty (especially in Fall) runs along the road and crosses it several times. Whole way is paved with shady spots and benches.

Conover-Phelps Trail

Lovely

Pretty and peaceful. It’s paved in Phelps but turns to gravel not longer after. Shaded mostly. I’m sure the tamaracks are really pretty in Fall. The ice cream store in Phelps is open till mid Sept, awesome place to get ice cream n baked goods after your ride.

Watersmeet to Land O'Lakes Trail

Rough

Unless you have a fat tire and don’t mind ATVs have at it. I tried with my gravel bike and turned back after about 50 feet.

Manitowish Waters Bike Trail

One of THE Best Trails!

September, 2025 by tedijw

Rode this trail on a perfect “biking weather” day! Trail is paved and well maintained. Parts are winding but fairly flat. Many shaded portions. Went across bridges. Stopped in Manitowish Waters at Dixie’s coffee shop - great place with excellent service. This trail is hard to beat!

Heart of Vilas Bike Trail

The best trail in Wisconsin. Manitowish Waters to just outside Boulder Junction

Smooth asphalt, perfect amount of hills and curves, beautiful forests and lakes. Pure bliss.

Great trail!

State Line Trail

not a bike trail.

August, 2025 by brownlincolnt

This is an ATV trail which is NOT part of your description. I only went 20 miles on it and, even with the widest gravel tires the “rugged” disclaimer doesn’t suit the trail. There are huge holes left by atv tires. Most of the roads to cross were high up and I had to walk my bike up and down the sides of the intersection. The only people I met were on motor vehicles and I was covered in red dust by the time I returned to my car. Huge disappointment. Please fix your description ASAP!

Heart of Vilas Bike Trail

Scenic Bike path

September, 2024 by dorac2830

We rode this trail in a couple of segments over 2 days. The first stint was from the trailhead just east of St. Germaine, parked on the street, 40 miles r/t. 2nd day started from the Trailhead at M & N, headed towards west, another 40 Mile day. The trail was very scenic and passed through Sayner and Boulder Junction. We got a bit turned around at Boulder Junction and headed north for 2.5 miles but doubled back and kept headed west. Well maintained trail and amenities. Highly recommended.
