Polly Ann Trail

halfway there to an excellent trail

August, 2019 by heather.macdonald93

Was stubborn the other weekend and told myself I’d do the complete length regardless of the comments here. Wish I’d saved myself the effort, plus not gotten tennis elbow, from almost reaching the end (short 8 miles). Finally gave up once I had to get off my bike three times in 10 minutes for hives trees that had fallen over the trail. Not recommended for any bike without suspension.

Wayne County Metroparks Trail

We rode from Huroc park in Flat Rock to Lower Huron Metropark and back. The scenery was beautiful and traffic was light (early Saturday morning). The Lower Huron Metropark had some bumps but nothing major. We highly recommend this trail.

Lakelands Trail State Park

Beautiful trail

My wife and I took the trail east from Stockbridge to Pinckney a few days ago. West of Pinckney, you definitely want a gravel bike or something with larger tires than a typical roadie as it's all hard packed limestone. I never ran into any horse obstacles other than the stray horse apple every once in a while. It sounds like they are working on updating the trail around the Stockbridge area and perhaps paving that as well? Personally, as a gravel biker I find this sad as I found the limestone portion to be very enjoyable. Clear and well kept.

It's been our favorite trail so far in Michigan. I'd highly recommend it. Just don't take road tires and expect any fun west of Pinckney.

Paint Creek Trail (MI)

Nice ride!

August, 2019 by frankpizzo

We started by parking at a park near Ludlow and went to Lake Orion- total round trip from there was roughly 18.5 miles. Not paved, crushed hard stone. Saw plenty of wildlife , including deer with fawns! Ride on the way to Lake Orion has a slight elevation most of the way, which made the ride back much faster. Bridge is still out but you can go around it by taking a couple side roads. Hope they fix that soon! We stopped in Lake Orion to enjoy a meal- lots of places to eat at!

Macomb Orchard Trail

Great trail

August, 2019 by sean.lauderdale

We road this trail on road bikes to avoid traffic. Was a great trail...wide open and good surfaces. Fellow trail users were courteous. Started from the Clinton River Trail junction and road out to 13.5 miles and back. Signage was generally pretty good at intersections but there were one or two crossings around mile 2 that were less clear resulting in some wrong turns.

Macomb Orchard Trail

Nicest Trail I've ridden this year

July, 2019 by utahfoto

The trail is well maintained, just the right distance, mostly smooth bridge transitions, road intersections well marked. Pretty scenic, plenty of places to rest, buy refreshments and use restrooms. I'd like to ride this one again! Started in Romeo, rode to Richmond, back to Romeo then onto Utica before returning to Romeo.

Clinton River Park Trail

Nice trail

July, 2019 by allred.albert1

Just rode this trail today. It now connects north to another very nice trail through downtown Utica that extends a few miles up to Ryan Road in Shelby Township, I think it’s called River Bends.

The trail is very scenic, lots of woods and hills and nice views as it follows the river. There are many curves and side trails and signage is not great, so it seems like it would be easy to get lost if you’re not careful. There are lots of parks along the trail.

Detroit RiverWalk

Great place to ride, run, or walk

July, 2019 by allred.albert1

The River Walk is beautiful, and has been extended beyond what is currently described here, I believe. And as of my last ride down there, last month, more riverwalk was being completed — it goes east out almost all the way to the bridge to Belle Isle now. You can also go west past the old Joe Louis arena after a short stretch on roads or sidewalks, and the trail extends another half-mile or so in that direction. If you combine the very cool Dequindre Cut with the River Walk and the route around Belle Isle, it’s easy to get in a 20 mile bike ride without having to worry about cars or traffic almost at all.

I just hope they continue extending the River Walk, the Detroit River is beautiful and there’s plenty of space to keeping expanding. Eventually, I’d love to see it extend to Grosse Point, and down to the Ambassador Bridge.

West Bloomfield Trail

Really nice trail!

July, 2019 by utahfoto

The trail is in great shape and clearly loved by the locals, many of whom were out riding mid-day. Very pretty, lots of ponds and wetlands. I rode a bit east after the trail connected to the Clinton River trail. On the western end I road towards Wixom on the open sections of the newly paved trail from Haggerty to Wixom Road on the old Coe Railway bed. West of Wixom you can jog north on Maple then south onto another trail and then on to New Hudson

Macomb Orchard Trail

Beginners like us loved it!

July, 2019 by frankpizzo

Started at 33 mile road and Romeo Plank Rd and headed west. Paved the whole way there, with a great lookout view of the Clinton River, ice cream shops, pizzeria, restaurant and bar and about 10 miles in we stopped at a 7-11 that also had a bike shop in the strip mall. Overall about a 20 mile trip and we loved it!

Paint Creek Trail (MI)

Nice trail. Along the way there is a Cider place to get food and donuts. Many nice views of rivers/ponds. Many places to rest. Only downside is that when I went- the trail was shut down in the middle.

Metro Parkway Trail

Needs some work on the section we road

July, 2019 by jschihl

(Maybe its not fair to rate this trail as we did not ride the whole distance) We started at 16mi and Schoenherr but eventually the bumps got too annoying so we turned around when we hit Moravian (we took the subdivision road that runs parallel to avoid the bumps).
