Michigan Air Line Trail

Ultra Smooth

September, 2020 by kathrynparsons1

New trail makes for a smooth ride. Mixed scenery amongst industrial areas. Connects between West Bloomfield trail and Huron Valley.

Macomb Orchard Trail

great late summer ride

Trail is nice and smooth. Nicely maintained. Rode from Romeo to Richmond. One of my favorite rides

Macomb Orchard Trail

Nice bike ride

September, 2020 by fajita1

The surface is flat and smooth. Slowdown at the street intersections due to the ongoing traffic. If you’re looking for a scenic route this one is not for you.

West Bloomfield Trail

Beautiful trail!

Very nice and smooth ride all the way. Nice scenery as well - I would ride this again

Clinton River Trail

Rough Ride

September, 2020 by peteanddonna

It was not what I expected, had to go through a neighborhood and the sidewalks where really rough. The trail itself was broken asphalt instead of actual gravel or limestone.

Just rode this today and it was great! Very scenic and smooth ride

West Bloomfield Trail

Great Trail

September, 2020 by ltree33

Sometimes a little busy but overall nice trail. Gravel road had made my legs a little stronger as it provides slightly more resistance than a paved trail. Only negative (which is to be expected) is that on dryer days the gravel dust/limestone gets everywhere. So I need to wash my bike down after every ride. Very scenic ride.

I-275 Metro Trail

Very good path to get to Hines

September, 2020 by maestrojfk

I utilize this path to get from my home in Canton to Hines Drive where I can ride on the street. It's a little loud at spots because it passes close to the expressway and the path isn't very smooth north of M-14, but it's a good path. Also, beware the crossing at Michigan Ave. It's particularly difficult (annoying).

Border-to-Border Trail

Heavy foot traffic

September, 2020 by maestrojfk

This seems like a reasonably nice trail, but I ended up riding far less of it than I had originally planned. The foot traffic was so heavy, it lowered my typical average speed my about 2 mph. I felt like I couldn't get into any rhythm because I kept having to slow down. Also, the are long stretches of the trail that are in heavy shadows and the condition of the path is only fair, so it's hard to see potential danger spots. Probably fine for recreational rides on a mountain bike, but not for a training ride on a road bike... not that paths are the best places for any type of speed rides anyway.

Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park

A good ride!

September, 2020 by mg.hayden

I peddled the trail, Saturday the 12th, from Hamburg Township to Stockbridge and back. I chose this section of the trail because it offered a smooth asphalt surface as well as crushed lime stone and dirt. It offered a little bit of everything over this 20 mile section. There was a bike repair tool station as well as bathrooms along the way. A fun and scenic ride.

Hines Park Trail/Rouge River Gateway Greenway

Hines memory

September, 2020 by fcerezo10_tl

Did u know the highway divide yellow lines were conceived by The late Me Hines. We owe so much to his vision. As motorists, bicyclist and pedestrians all benefit from his wisdom. This is one of the most challenging ones around the tri-county trails. I am talking for myself ofcourse. The climb from 7 mile to Northville recreation parking lot is quite a burner. Do that and you are satisfied. As always, if you see me around say hi.

Island Lake Trail Connector

Essential connection

September, 2020 by laurievukonich

I found this handy connector trail while biking at Island Lake. It led to the back of the parking lot of the Green Oak Village shopping center. Follow around to the left, skirting the parking lot, past the Panera and you can find the Fieldcrest Trail which will take you to the residential areas along US-23 south to Silver Lake Road. If I lived in that area, this connector would be my main access to good biking. Although gravel, it was hard-packed and smoother than the actual paved trail at Island Lake. Slopes are gentle. This trail parallels the train tracks and the Island Lake side terminates a stone’s throw from the Dodge Picnic area in Island Lake.
