October 17 rode the trail end to end.

Trail has been extended into Shippensburg and College. Took a short trip around the town but not familiar with the area so basically I got separated from the trail (lost) for a few minutes.

Trail surface is getting 'beat up' a bit. Could use some maintenance. Sort of becoming a 'two-track' in places. Horses have left impressions in the gravel.

There is a very short extension toward Carlisle. Maybe 3/4 mile ending just past route-233. They re-decked a bridge and installed a box tunnel under the road. Looking forward to having the trail extended.

Nice Scenic Trail

October, 2017 by sjohns133173

I enjoyed this bike trail but the entrance was a little confusing and awkwardly located . I was only able to find the entrance with help from another bike rider. First you park in the Riverfront parking lot, get on your bike, crossover 2 train tracks and cross a busy street and then back over to the other side via a 3-way intersection, to get to the trail entrance. But once you're on the trail it is awesome; going through the tunnel, seeing the high cliffs of chicques' rock and little streams. There are plenty of places to have a picnic too on the trail and watch the rock climbers or just sit relax and spend time with your family. I gave the trail 4/5 because the entrance of the bike trail is somewhat hard to find and confusing. Perhaps, in the future, they will build an easier trail entrance and then I would give it 5/5.

Enola Low Grade Trail

Still a bumpy ride in Martic and Conestoga Township sections

October, 2017 by jhtl

I had ridden this trail in the spring, from the Fairview Road parking area to the blocked-off bridge at Safe Harbor. The Providence Township section is smooth fine gravel. The Martic Township and Conestoga Township sections are more rough. The News and Events section of the Enola Low Grade Trail website (http://www.enolalowgradetrail.com/) indicated that Martic and Conestoga Townships planned to place a new surface on their respective trail portions in late spring, early summer of this year.  I rode the trail again October 6, and found that this work had not been done yet, so it was still a bumpy ride. I drove to the Manor Township extension of the trail and rode it - very nice.

Lancaster Junction Trail

AWESOME TRAIL

October, 2017 by sjohns133173

This trail is very scenic and its so far my favorite trail. Its long enough to get a good workout but short enough to take my children with me and ride as a family. Its an excellent beginners trail. I recommend you ride this trail first and you will love it.

Stony Valley Railroad Grade

A nice change of pace. Great Duel Sport Bike Ride.

Personally one of my favorite Trails I’ve ridden. You won’t rip through this trail. A little ruff in some parts of Trail. Slow down a bit and you will be fine. I would not bring a high dollar road bike on this one. Oh and No Cell Service! My Favorite Part! Enjoy

An Outstanding Biking Trail

This is one of my favorite trails. All paved, it is scenic and has variable terrain and surroundings. Usually do the North Marietta to Bainbridge portion.

Cumberland Valley Rail Trail

Beginner Cyclist

The asphalt section of the trail starting at mile marker 10 (Newville) does not extend very far, maybe a mile at the most. The rest of the trail (down to mile marker 6, which is where we turned around) is very narrow and a little unnerving for someone who is still not totally comfortable on a bicycle. Every time someone passed me I felt as though we were going to hit handle bars. Otherwise, the trail is mostly flat and it is very scenic. I would definitely walk this trail but won't be back with my bike.

Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail

Wonderful ride

October, 2017 by jtkilcoin

Began this ride north of the trail at Railroad PA along the Heritage Trail that joins the Torrey (also named NCR). The day was brisk, sunny and dry. Trail conditions for a rail-trail were very good. The majority of the trail is tree-lined and shaded. At times the trail was 'two-track' but mostly sufficiently wide to ride two-abreast if traffic permitted. My ride was on a weekday, so traffic was light. The trail offers a lot of rail history if one is so inclined to enjoy in addition to the outdoors.

Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway Trail

Dangerous for Bikes!

September, 2017 by kbikeva

Our group just used this little trail to get from the Conowingo Dam to Havre de Grace. I usually love rail trails whether paved or gravel, but this is the first one I've ever encountered that had rails still IN the trail, parallel to the path of travel. Our tandem went down with ugly results for the couple riding it. One of our most experienced cyclists (over 100k miles) came close to doing the same. If you're going to bike it, slow WAY down, and take off your sunglasses because by the time you see the rail, it will be too late.

Elizabethtown Connector Trail

Nothing special

September, 2017 by joelkring

I started by looking at the map on the satellite view and saw what looked like a continuation of the trail. It did go a little further, to the Amtrack station, but the trails through the Masonic Village were for walkers only. The sad thing was that we saw almost no one walking on the paths. The trail was not hard to follow but it had no signage, just followed the painted road crossing marks. Also you have to pay to park in the lot at the beginning of the trail. What little trail there is was well maintained. Not great for biking.

Springlawn Trail

Scenic but rough

September, 2017 by joelkring

Hard to believe that this was a road, the trail has many large stones, might be okay for mountain bikes. On the plus side the scenery is wonderful. We rode this trail in mid to late September and the leaves that had already fallen made seeing the rocks difficult.

Mill Creek Trail (PA)

Great short trail

September, 2017 by joelkring

I was concerned about riding on wood chips but the trail surface was smooth and not too soft. The scenery is very pleasant, only drawback is that the trail is so short. Lancaster County has many short trails, most of them very nice scenic rides. If you don't loading and unloading your bikes why not try to ride them all, we did, its fun.
