This trail would have been a 10 out of 10 were it not for the frequent road crossings, as that really kept me from building some good speed, but otherwise, this is a very good trail that I look forward to coming back to in the future.
There’s allot to explore and see along the way. The bird watch towers are really nice. Bring mosquito spray and binoculars! The paved trail is really nice the real adventure is the hiking trail by the end. It’s more rugged and not paved but the views are amazing. Highly recommend adding this to your list of adventures but don’t forget the mosquito spray there is a marsh right there.
This path is easy to ride with a gravel or hybrid bike south of Dryden.
North of Dryden, it turns into lawn over patches of mud. I saw people riding there, but they needed fat tires. You could hike or ride a horse, though. Be prepared for mosquitoes and biting flies.
The Part of this trail that is maintained by Oakland county is beautiful they are always working on the trail making it better, we start at the beginning off Joslyn and ride to Dryden , after that you can see a sign saying Polly Ann Trail but it's just land next to a building then nothing it's a part of the trail but it's just over grown grass and the path isn't like there, Trail Link and all maps show it goes to Imlay city but after Dryden the trail is never Maintained they really need to make the trail useable or drop that part off the trail map.
My wife and I just biked the trail for the 4th time in the last several years. We live 30 minutes east of Millington. The variety of plant and animal life keep us coming back.
This trial is pretty rough due to all that loose stone, so if you go on a bike, a fat tire one is prob best, or perhaps walk this one?
A nice trail that's a little bit hilly.
A bit of both urban and nature on this one, with urban winning out but I would recommend if you're in the area.
Pavement is rough and there's nothing to see maybe either walk this one or skip it entirely.
While my daughter was riding her horse across a bridge on 3/21/25 (from Millington to otter lake) the horse's leg went thru one of the boards on the bridge. It appeared that the boards had recently been replaced as there were pieces of cut boards in the creek bed below. Just wanted to let someone know before someone else falls thru and they or their horse gets injured. I'm sorry I don't know which bridge specifically, but like I said it was located between Millington and otter lake. Wasn't sure how else to contact anyone to report it (feel free to delete after whomever needa to know is told)
So far this is my favorite trail, 21 miles round trip and super nice trail
I ride the trail often. I live in Lake Orion and ride it through Leonard to the Oakland Lapeer County line. It is well maintained and is very scenic. I will see lots of wildlife.
