D&L Trail

Morrisville to New Hope

May, 2019 by slipsoup

Canal trails are some of the best riding. They are long with few interruptions and non-stop water views. My friend and I rode the segment from Morrisville to New Hope. We parked in the parking lot for the Morrisville Little League on North Delmorr Avenue. The trail is at the end of Hillside Avenue, which is right across the street from the parking lot. It was really easy access. This segment passes several locks and the town of Yardley. There's a part of the trail that has the canal on the left and the Delaware River on the right. There are ducks, geese, herons, and turtles along the way. At New Hope, the trail goes onto the road for a small segment, which is where we stopped. If you continue past this point, the trail shortly comes to an end at the river. The surface is crushed stone for the most part and easily ridable with any kind of tire. This distance for this segment is 30 miles roundtrip.

Peace Valley Park Hike & Bike Trail

One of My Happy Places

May, 2019 by marathoner66

I’ve run hundreds of miles here year around training for marathons. It’s perfect for that—lightly rolling terrain for the most part with a steep 8% grade hill for good measure. Note with a new nice and wide extension the trail now goes all the way around the lake and is about a 6-mile loop. Most of the old trail was recently repaved as well.

Warwick-to-Ephrata Rail-Trail

Update

April, 2019 by 1972hawk

This trail is now open from Lititz to Ephrata. Construction on the bridge in the center is complete. The trail is paved at both ends and gravel in the center. I rode the entire trail on my road bike and had no problem with the gravel section, but I might not be able to say that shortly after a rain.

Chester Valley Trail

Good for some miles

April, 2019 by timmy0728

4.5 is a more appropriate rating.
A nice, flat, paved and well marked trail.
Ran to the left after parking.
A nice little bridge as well as a nice little tunnel, nice scenary along the way.
The only drawback is crossing several roads which could be a challenge at busy times, and could be a negative for bikers.
So in conclusion, if in the area and want to get a few miles in, give this a try.
You'll be pleased.

We rode the trail today from Warwick Twp towards Ephrata and were stopped near Millway due to construction upgrades. Does anyone know when this section will re-open?

Chester Valley Trail

Superb trail as far as smooth and maintained, but the road noise from Rt 202 made parts of the trail unbearable. If you are looking for a great trail to hear mother nature. this is not it!

Jack A. Markell Trail

Very difficult find indeed

March, 2019 by sandymo

We used the Traillink start of Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. However, there’s little parking near the park and no signs for the trail. We had read other reviews of the issue so we weren’t surprised. We saw some signs for ECG East Coast Greenway and thought we had a chance. Nope. After a couple of miles of wandering streets we were almost ready to call it a day. I saw a young couple dressed like runners and asked them. They shared the secret. It’s NOT at the park at all but “seems” to begin at Banks Seafood across the street. It winds around behind some other restaurants and behind the shopping center. Once we got going it was much easier, but I can’t tell you I saw the first sign as I was so happy to find the trail. As on any busy trail, and especially because of the restaurants, very slow going is required for the first mile. Diners leaving the restaurants aren’t area of the trail so proceed very carefully. Once you past the shopping center it gets much better. We enjoyed the ride. The bridges and wetlands were nice and trail was in good shape. It’s a nice little out and back trail that could easily end with a lunch or dinner at one of the places at the end/beginning. The parking seemed to be a tough issue unless you park at the shopping center but the signage was a sad commentary on an otherwise nice trail. Someone should put up some signs...unless they want no one else to find. One single sign at the park might do the trick.

Nice surroundings, soft surface: Martic to Sawmill Rd (Rd 435)

February, 2019 by ptenerel

I rode my hybrid bike in Feb 2019 from Martic Township (near the closed bridge) to Sawmill Rd (Rd 435). I found the surface to be softer than I'd like, making it rather strenuous. I was riding with 700 x 35 tires. Now that I look on the trail website, I see that they recommend wide tires.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this ride by moonlight. The surrounding area is really nice and the trial is flat and wide, with a big parking lot in Martic Township.

Struble Trail

Needs fencing in some parts

February, 2019 by cindyspringer

I love this trail. I ride it myself and take my grandchildren thereto bike and walk. They love it. Several places along the trail especially the north end is very dangerous.
The side drops off right next to trail into the river. There is some fencing, but needs to be more. It’s very easy for a child to fall down hill and into the creek. All that is needed
Is a four ft. chainlink fence along steep areas.
