Pumpkinvine Nature Trail

Beautiful trail through Amish country

July, 2024 by ptaylor5505

Rode this trail last year. Started in Goshen and headed toward Middlebury. There is a large section of trail that is exposed to the wind. Chose a calm day, it’s not pleasant riding into a 20 mph wind!¿

Pufferbelly Trail

Great trail

We bike this nearly every day. Easy access from our home. Great shad and wind block with only a few hills.

Fishing Line Trail

Very Nice Trail -- extended another mile or so along Sylvan Lake in Rome City in 2024

Very well kept and comfortable trail. Effective July '24 extends an additional mile or so beyond what's indicated here, along the Sylvan Lake dam on the west end.

Kal-Haven Trail State Park

Sinkholes

July, 2024 by manager28

The trail is nice but be careful with small sinkholes . There are many ….. at least at the section from South Heaven (I rode about 15 miles). I rode in one of them and fell down pretty badly.

Falling Waters Trail

Well Maintained Great Ride

July, 2024 by truthorcon

Started in Jackson and went west to Concord (against the wind). In Concord continue west on the street when trail terminates. Ate lunch in Concord Tavern downtown which is to your left as you dead-end into Main Street... fantastic pizza.
Then rode back to Jackson (with the wind). Saw deer, birds, and lots of little critters. Very enjoyable outing of 22 miles round-trip.

Kal-Haven Trail State Park

a great trip

July, 2024 by mhogan3656

I rode from Kalamazoo to South Haven, staying 2 nights in South Haven, and returning to Kalamazoo on July 1. I love this trail and my trip was great. The east part of the trail is narrower and has more shade and the surface is older. About midway the trail is wider and has fresh crushed limestone. I stopped at a Dollar General at Bloomingdale to get snacks for lunch and to use their restroom. I plan to do the trail in the fall when it will be a different experience.

Rebuilt Trail to Bloomingdale’s

June, 2024 by jbkleinert

Rode from South Haven to Grand Junction. State did a great job of rebuilding trail by widening, improving drainage and building a new bridge. However, the loose crushed stone makes it difficult.

Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park

great ride

June, 2024 by mhogan3656

I rode this trail from Pinkney to Stockbridge and back. It was a pleasant ride with varying scenery-sometimes open fields and sometimes heavily wooded. Another thing I liked about this trail is that is not endlessly flat. Instead there are some easy hills and downhill

Central City Trail (IN)

trail to nowhere??

June, 2024 by lenanissley

This trail is very poorly marked through the downtown area. No directional signs or designated bike lanes. I was completely confused about where I should be biking- street or sidewalk? Connecting to the pumpkinvine trail took a lot of guess work and stopping to check my google map.

Wabash Cannonball Trail

Long Rides

June, 2024 by drrsg8g8fg

I live close to Fallen Timbers and pick up both the north and south paths often and I have road the whole south trail a couple times. I ride both a full suspension and no suspension mountain bikes from the early 2000s. Either is adequate for the parts of the trail I’ve road on. I find the trail beautiful. I’d like to make it out to Montpelier but have only made it just past the detour between Delta and Wauseon. The posted detour has you going about 4-5 miles on county roads. This is very dangerous. I would not recommend as the traffic is very fast and if cars come from both directions you have to get off and the off often ends up in a ditch and not easy. I’ve found it better to just continue on the path and avoid the detour. But this places you along the railroad tracks and it’s very difficult to ride. They are active tracks also and trains will come by. Riding on the trail though the detour is possible but rough and the part that goes over the tracks and along them is not marked well. It took some exploring to figure it out. I can’t speak for the trail after wauseon to Montpelier as I haven’t made it that far but the parts I’ve road are a great path for all day riding. You will have to cross streets along the way so you will have starting stopping.

Pumpkinvine Nature Trail

Beautiful area, people, and ride!

June, 2024 by chaspenny

First- many kudos to the people who care for this trail. Thank you!! We rode the trail from Shipshewana to Gohshen yesterday and my wife and I found ourselves saying Wow at nearly every turn. Although there are quite a few road crossings none were problematic. This is not a trail to get on and go flat out for exercise rather it is a trail to go at a relaxing pace and enjoy the scenery and the many people who are also enjoying the trail. We will do the trail again in the fall.
