Beautiful Trail

September, 2026 by flyinmansam

We drove down from South Bend. Although it is a fairly short trail, it was well worth the trip. A beautiful, smooth and shady ride. Several rest stops and ports-potties along the way. We parked at Gaff Park in Rome City. Ample parking, neat and clean restrooms along with a bike maintenance station.

Martin Luther King Equality Trail

The MLK trail has been redone and is a great place to start off of West Ave. if you want to extend the Falling Waters Trail. So nice now. Makes trails about 15 miles one way. Such a peaceful scenic ride.

Three of us rode this trail in 4 out and back rides. There are several waypoints along the way where I met my companions over several rides. Very smooth and easy riding since it's a rail trail and is well maintained by Pinckney Recreation area.

There's nothing special about this trail, it's open to the sun and that's about it.

Baw Beese Trail

terrible trail

This trail is so rough you have to put all your attention to controlling your bike and can’t look around. The part through the town of Hillsdale is on city streets and poorly marked. Don’t waste your time on this trail

New trail improvements

July, 2026 by kirktonj_tl

After parking at Gene Stratton Porter, we headed into Kendallville, and then rode back to Rome City. Even though not listed on the app, there is a section of new trail completed, a nice parking parea and a repair station at Gaff Park in Rome City. We followed the trail through the park down past the boat ramp and up to the business district. It was a great ride with restaurants at both ends of the trail

We rode from Abshire Park in Goshen to Middlebury. The scenery was beautiful. We ate in Middlebury at Hilltop Restaurant.

pickney trailhead

Parked in pickney. Turn left vs right. Stopped so much going right. Left had a few crossroads woth major traffic then it went to a park, but also gravel. Still was nice. Just prefer trails that aren’t stop and go. Decent shade coverage.

A Great Trail

Rode today from Shipshiwanna to Goshen and I highly recommend this trail. Completely asphalt until the very end in Goshen. Beautiful country side with local farms, farm smells and a creamy adjacent of the trail - but it was closed. Enjoyed it very much.

Good Trail

It's a pretty decent trail with a great round trip.

Pretty Rough

May, 2026 by clonetrooper5373

While it has an excellent round trip if you the whole trail (including backtracking), the pavement is in rough shape with very few portions being smooth, you're alongside traffic for long segments, and some of it set in urban settings, you might want to choose a different trail altogether.

The only drinking fountain that I came across is by a baseball field by Brooks St. & Garfield Ave.
