Union Transportation Trail

Solid trail, goes through farmland and the backs of some businesses. Not much shade, but there are enough trees to make you feel far from society. The crushed gravel is easy to ride, the trail is mostly flat, and the mile markers are very convenient.

Wilmington Riverwalk

this is Wilmington

If you’re coming to Wilmington, this is the place to see. Urban, busy, but in a good way. Connects to two more placid trails by the Peterson wildlife refuge. If you e never been here, check it out.

Upper Bucks Rail Trail

This Trail is nice and clean and level through a wooded area with Rippling Brooks and lots of wildflowers. Great space for grandparents and active grandkids! Needless to say the grandma was lagging behind a bit.

Michael Castle Trail

Enjoyable spring ride

April, 2021 by connorysh

We started at Biddle Point where the restrooms are open -- info that might be helpful to others -- and went west *almost* to Chesapeake City. It was not crowded, though there were plenty of folks enjoying the trail. As others have mentioned, the path along the canal is flat, flat, flat. However, it goes inland around the Marina and again further west. Those areas are hilly, not bad, but certainly not flat. Factor that into your ride, especially with kids. We started with virtually no breeze but apparently that is not typical. The breezes increased as we went west and we looked forward to the wind being at our backs on the return ride east. No such luck. Suggest folks plan for wind, both in clothing but also in stamina.

Pemberton Rail-Trail

Nice flat wide trail. Good for walk, run or bike. We stayed to left at the fork and trail ended at an old train station. Wawa was next door in case your in need of a drink or restroom.

Saucon Rail Trail

My Go To Trail.

April, 2021 by wmebert

Great trail to get your exercise on. Now it’s tied in with the Upper Bucks trail so it’s about 25 miles round trip. Scenic and quiet. Pass by the Saucon Valley Country Club, large “starter castles” in Weyhill, and ride as you meander by the Saucon creek. I love this trail and ride it quite often. There’s a slight grade going south that you really don’t notice until you head back north. It’s ever so slight but if you’re riding a bike you’ll feel the difference. Well maintained and clean. Highly recommend the Saucon Rail Trail.

Delcastle Recreational Park Walking Trail

Paved circular path around sports complex and nice playground with exercise equipment along path. Fairly busy area for recreational walkers. Not particularly scenic but a nice county park.

Liberty Bell Trail (Coopersburg)

Has parking at both ends of the trail. Very wide walking trail, shaded area year round. Not enough trash cans for dog poop.

Ben Cardin C&D Canal Recreational Trail

Great Trail!!!

Beautiful, paved, flat ride along the canal with ample resting spots. Parking and getting to the trail was a little awkward and dangerous sharing a narrow busy road with vehicles for about 1/4 mile. Be careful with little ones.

Liberty Bell Trolley Trail

This is a very quaint trail and is under a 1/2 mile, one way. If you start at Linden Street, continue to the end of the residential street past Liberty Bell elementary, and then go back to Linden, the total distance is under 2 miles. Nice residential area! If you are short on time, this is the perfect trail to try!

Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail

nice trail

Road from kintnersville to Erwinna. Beautiful scenery. Saw a muskrat, Ducks and turtles. Trail narrows at times. We went on a week day. I am sure the weekends with more people would become challenged at points. All gravel trail.

Warwick-to-Ephrata Rail-Trail

It would be a 5 star trail for biking if it was paved. It makes for a very dirty bike.
