Great trail, tremendous trail, believe me! You can ask anyone, the trail is one of the best! I’ve been on many trails, this one is tremendous.
Parking, water, and restrooms are available at the South Trailhead at 14608 Ben C Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway (the trailhead is shown on the map but parking, etc, are not indicated). On the Apple Maps app, put in “Daniel’s Buckingham Trail” to see the location of the Daniel’s Parkway dirt parking area. To cross Daniel’s Parkway go west to the first traffic light and use the crosswalk.
Started our ride at the north end trailhead and rode south to the causeway. Nice surface, straight, mostly flat trail. Great views of the canals and waterways. 16 miles, great ride.
Don't get run over by all the nasty gulf carts flying by...
So many amazing trails! In-line skated the entire island and had fun using my skates to commute everywhere. I definitely recommend and will do it again ¿ trail quality was surprisingly pretty good and I loved the jungle atmosphere.
After getting down there and running Ding Darling trail we ended on the bake path the goes back up to where we parked. We then saw signs stating class 1 e-bike only. If you have a class 2 be aware that there are signs posted that you are not allowed to run the bike path. Was very disappointed as we don’t use the throttle on any bike trails and did not know this was going to be an issue.
Not too crowded, even on a beautiful day during the winter ”season.” They need to find a better way to cross Daniel’s Parkway. Maybe an overpass or underpass. You have to pedal to the nearest traffic light and use the pedestrian cross light. Adds at least 1/2 mile to trip. I suggest you start from the parking lot on the north side of Daniel’s Pkwy, and just skip the southern mile. You’ll still get a nice 10 mile ride.
Most of this trail is closed due to the 2024 back to back hurricanes. Was a beautiful trail.
I started riding my bike at the Six Mile Cypress parking lot. When I got to Daniel’s road, I didn’t know where the trail went so I turned left. Then, you start running into busy intersections & a shopping center at Tamiami Trail Rd (Hwy 41). I turned around & went back to my car. Looking at the map now, I see that the trail continues north, past Daniel’s road, which is pretty wide. Not sure where you cross at. I’ll give it another try.
This is a bike path for people that want to get out and enjoy a ride in Florida on a sunny day with no snow and no below zero. You all have a nice day on your bikes and tell every one that you can enjoy Florida and be a "SNOW BIRD" just like us when we go up north on vacation we are called "SANDBIRDS FROM FLORIDA"
This was my first ride on this path in over twenty years with a e-trike and I think some of the people who ride e-bikes need to slow down. Some speed up the bike path at over twenty mile per hour and some do not even let you know that they pass you by with out a word or even ring the bell on their bike. I yell out passing on your left and even ring my bell,
The path is what it is a path to enjoy the day out in wonderful Florida.
