Northwest Lancaster County River Trail

great!

First time with my new bike! It was a cool morning so hardly anyone out….and then the afternoon came. Kids. Dogs. Ugh. But all good. It was a super fun ride. In the beginning some of the asphalt buckles or tree roots lifting it up so you will feel the bumps

Lebanon Valley Rail-Trail

A premier trail in PA

This trail keeps getting better- It now has an awesome newly re-graveled sibling trail for bikers, the Conewago Recreation trail, which adds another 5 miles. I road yesterday from Elizabethtown all the way to Cornwall (Rootbeer barrel) and back (30 miles round trip) all smooth. Stopped by Mt Gretna Pizzeria- very close to the trail and no worries about traffic. Also stopped at Colebrook Crossing (ice cream shop!!!), which is so close to trail you can watch people riding while you enjoy a rootbeer float LOL

Cynwyd Heritage Trail

Trail extended to Bala Station at City Avenue

April, 2026 by walking5

I rode this trail for the first time today (April 24, 2026). Contrary to the current map the trail does extend from the Cynwyd Station to the Bala Station at City Avenue. The extension looks quite new.

Swatara Rail-Trail

Next time a shorter ride, but more enjoyable.

On 4/3/2026 my daughter and I rode the trail for a 21 mile ride starting at the north end of trail, at the Hampton Inn. It is hard to call this part of the trail a trail. We rode down someone’s driveway and along the edge of their yard. Then there was a mud path just wide enough for our tires with several large mud puddles. After the Swopes Valley Road parking area the trail is a wide crushed stone trail, a little rougher than a normal rail trail due to the fact that equestrians can use this part of the trail. After the pedestrian bridge the trail is smother. This trail would be a great trail to ride in the fall when the leaves are changing. The next time we ride this trail we will start at the Swopes Valley Road parking area and ride south to the Lickdale trailhead and have a picnic lunch or continue to the end of the trail to eat at Wendy’s or subway, maybe even get some ice cream.

Union Canal Trail

misinformation in the trail info leads to wasted time

March, 2026 by megan.a.lemon

0 stars if I could. Nowhere in the information anywhere on here does it say pets aren’t allowed, so I thought this would be a nice shady walk for my dog on a sunny day only to drive all the way there and see no pets signs everywhere. Waste of time and gas.

Lake Galena Hike & Bike Trail

A Beautiful Trail ...

February, 2026 by robertino

The trail is actually park path and is not a rail trail. So, there are plenty of twists and curves that make for a fun and interesting ride. Only the pathway on the dam is a straightaway, and the view from it will stop you in your tracks.

The path is generally smooth: it was re-paved 2 years ago. I say "generally" because, inexplicably, they left a half-mile that remains pitted and worn out.

You'll see a lot of wildlife on this trail -- deer, geese, foxes (two and four legged), seagulls, squirrels, chipmunks, all species of birds, free-ranging children -- and, of course, the lake is beautiful and is almost always in sight. There are lots of benches and picnic tables right along the path. It's all absolutely breathtaking.

But -- and this is a big but! 😯 -- DO NOT ride this path on a weekend when the weather is nice. Half of Doylestown will be on it strolling, walking their dogs, meandering, lollygagging, rollerblading, yakking, eating, making love on and sitting in this path -- and, as a cyclist, it's frustrating and not even close to being enjoyable at such times.

The best time -- the only time! -- to ride this trail is on weekdays before 5pm. If, however, you're a cold cruiser or a rain rider, the path will be all yours any day of the week! Enjoy!

D&L Trail

Seriously a fun and beautiful toe path trail that puts you in the middle of the Delaware River and the canal..stop in quaint villages ( ie: New Hope, Lambertville) for a bit to eat or stay the night

Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail

D & L rail/canal trail

December, 2025 by toddengland

I just rode a portion of the trail from West Trenton to 2 miles north of Stockton. The path was a packed gravel path wide enough to drive a car down. The grade is very minimal the section I rode on. There are great views of the Delaware river the entire way. I would suggest browsing around the town of Lambertville. There are many quaint shops and restaurants to visit.
