My husband and I just finished this ride today. It was our first time on this bike path and we will definitely go back. Each turn on the trail provided a new experience and a beautiful view of something. Ducks and Canadian geese along the creek, small waterfalls, egrets fishing for their breakfast, lots of earthy woodsy smells. We started on the Laguna Niguel and rode all the way to Cook’s Borner and back.
Used the this trail with friends to roller skate(quad) and it was a good ride! However, because of the dirt trail alongside the bike trail, there were many little pebbles and dirt debris. Also, the cement dividers are pretty deep making to feel the need to skate tense in order not to trip. Street crossing wasn’t too bad on this route, only 2 big streets with a few small streets. This route is probably not ideal for beginner skaters. I would love to come back on my bike and walking with my dog. Not too much uphill/downhill.
What a joy to find this trail - it's close enough to my home I can bike to it. Getting out into nature does something to calm the mind.
I did about 9 miles near Huntington Beach. The good part of the trail is that long and unobstructed. You never have to cross a street. The bad part is that it is dam ugly.
It was a great day. I took today, Thursday off to ride and this trail was on my list. I had the place to myself and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Great for a quick or long walks. Also love how green and clean the space is. Our kids loved riding their scooters since it’s all paved.
We really enjoyed this trail as our first time . Very clean and comfortable one.
After riding the lower trail to the beach many times I decided to try the upper trail. I really didn’t like it. The homeless encampments and graffiti made the trail feel unsafe. I’m an adult male and I was uncomfortable, I can’t imagine being a female using this trail alone. Won’t use the upper trail again.
Nice easy trail whole family can enjoy, a couple of bumpy spots not real bad.
I need to get off and on my bike again and again.
I have a bad foot and riding a bike has zero impact on it so I can go and go when trails are flat. I catch it right at the I-15 and Baseline. I'm happy.
