Timpoochee Trail

Closed without warning

November, 2021 by cpozderac_tl

My husband and I ride recumbent trikes, and I was looking forward to this trail. Our plan was to go from one end to the other and back to Topsail. The park we did was not trike friendly, and about 7 miles into the ride the trail was closed, so we were forced to turn around and cut our ride short- planned on 40 and got 14. The neighbor around are interesting, but many are gated.

Navarre Beach Bike Path

Meanders through town.

October, 2021 by sallykocher51

This bike trail starts at Navarre Beach Park and meanders along Gulf Blvd. it was a pleasant ride (one way) and a windy ride back! Thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the nice houses with the Gulf behind them. It is a shared walk/ bike trail and the walkers were reluctant to move over.

Gayle's Trails

what a surprise

This is an outstanding trail. Smooth asphalt. Signals for road crossings. Discovered the conservatory and even more trails. They are compacted gravel and not for road bike. Will be back. Ended up with 30 miles and didn’t do all branches.

Navarre Beach Bike Path

Intimate View of Charming Seaside Town

September, 2021 by kimswift1

This bike trail provides a wonderful way to explore the quaint coastal life of Navarre Beach. I parked at the Navarre Beach Marine Park on the 1st clear day after Hurricane Ida. Sand had blown across the trail in some places but I was pleasantly surprised to see a crew blowing the sand off the trail (well maintained).

Lovely scenery. Intimate view of coastal community. Locals friendly to bikers. Fun, breezy, delightful ride with easy access to beach and Sound.

We enjoyed this trail so much. Smooth enough for our 4 year old to keep up easily.

Timpoochee Trail

Fun easy ride, with sections that are very busy.

Came from the east end of the trail. Parked across 98 where there was a little mall. Pretty well kept the whole way and goes through Seaside, Alys Beach, Watersound, etc. It does get very busy with foot traffic and when we went there were a bunch of high schoolers who had rented bikes so avoiding them was...interesting. You can take neighborhood roads off the trail to avoid some of the heavy foot traffic areas and also see some of the beautiful houses in these neighborhoods. The places in between the towns and to the west of the busy areas are great. Lots of places to stop and grab a bite to eat if you like.

Gulf Breeze Parkway Trail

Off the beaten path

This was a fun simple trail that went in multiple directions. They all led to different beach access. It was very quite and peaceful and not challenging in the sense of elevation. So a great time for anyone :)

Blackwater Heritage State Trail

nice ride

We started this trail at the trailside Visitors Center, Visitors has parking for about 8 cars and has a Bathroom inside. This is a Rail trail, very limited car crossings , the trail is about 12 foot wide and is well taken care of. Its ends a Whiting Field Naval Station. It has a good amount of shade trees along the way. Take your time and enjoy this one.

Timpoochee Trail

nice ride

We started out at Grayton Beach State Park it cost 5.00 to park ,it has restrooms and beach access. This is in the middle of the trail. We wanted to take our time so we divided it into two days, Day 1 took us down the trail which follows the road , there is about a 4 foot divider between road and trail in most places. You cross over the road a few times but at crossing system that alerts drivers to stop and let bikes and walkers across. You will pass many rental homes, stores and Restaurants. If you are there early you can have a great coffee at the Bad *** coffee company. We stopped several times along the way at stores and went to the end and went to Stinkys Restaurant for lunch. Very Good. Then made our way back. Day 2 Went to the East it was very crowded lots of bikes and walkers. In one spot you have to get off your bike and walk thru, this is by the park that has many Food Trucks. This trail crosses over the road a few more times then the west side. Shops and Restaurants all over. Take your time and enjoy the trail.

Blackwater Heritage State Trail

Awesome trail for all levels of cyclists. Trail is well maintained and the majority of local motorists yield for crossing cyclists. Great countryside scenery for most of the ride. Mostly flat terrain in very beginner friendly.

Great ride with nice country views most of the way.

Pensacola Beach Trail

very beautiful ride with visible bike path “most” of the way.

January, 2021 by 2nu9w863u5

If you park near the “Pensacola Beach Ball Tower” and start your ride from there all the way through Fort Dickens it comes to about 20 miles. Beautiful ride with a safe bike lane most of the way. The old fort is not much to look at, but it is still a great ride. It is costly to go into the park via bicycle. I think it was $15 unless your military like me and then it is free.
