Trans-Florida Central Railroad Trail

A perfect ride for a nice morning bike!

March, 2020 by carol.mcmanuspe

My daughter and I rode this scenic trail in North Indian river county. There is ample parking at a county park and getting on the trail could not be any easier! Lots of people using this lovely trail that had an easy grade overpass overlooking busy I-95. This trail is perfect for anyone looking for a quick stretch of the legs and a breath of fresh air!

Historic Jungle Trail

Very nice!

March, 2020 by thom11187

Just did this one today and practiced social distancing along the way. There were a decent amount of bikers and walkers. The sand was a bit heavy and slippery in a certain section so be careful--I've got a hybrid so maybe if you have fatter tires it's not bad. Liked the water views, big homes and heavily "jungled" tree areas and the distance was very manageable for inexperienced & more active riders both. Was surprised they let cars on this road at all--there were just a few but when they pass they kick up a lot of dust due to the hard-packed sand surface. It was a great day overall and nice to do during this crisis.

Fantastic, mostly shady, clean, safe!

March, 2020 by ssgomezz2

This is a great trail. We were worried about the dirt as our bikes are really hybrid road/trail bikes. But the trail was hard packed, clean, and mostly smooth. A few areas had ruts from car tires where water had pooled but we could easily ride on the other side. The scenery is lovely and there is a lot of shade on most of the trail. You do share the path with an occasional car but everyone is super polite and gives the bikers a wide berth. The trail head has a clean bathroom and there are places to sit about 1/4 mile in or so at the beginning portion of the trail. You won't be disappointed

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Good winter ride

February, 2020 by buffettbike

My wife and I rode the segment westbound starting at the trailhead just on the west side of I-95 all the way to the Maytown spur trailhead at Virgies. Nicely paved trail, below average scenery. Zero shade. This ride would be brutal in the summer. We chose this segment because the portion of the trail in downtown Titusville passed through a not so nice part of town.

Neptune Road Recreational Pathway

Not a real trail

It’s a nice area around the lake but not a nature trail at all.

Running

January, 2020 by scoutfrog

Good area for some training runs. Only good hill section is the bridge over the turnpike. Some sections of the paved route are being pushed up by tree roots so be careful if doing any night running. Also street crossings across Neptune Road can be a bit adventurous and time consuming. Not all the street crossing buttons work. No parking at the end of the route in Saint Cloud but I park at Partin Triangle Park and then jump on the trail since I live on the Saint Cloud side.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Great trail but lacks signage

December, 2019 by timbee205

I rode parts of this trail I hadn't been on before namely Edgewater to the split. Finding the parking area was easy but getting on the right trail wasn't. After you cross busy Park Ave you go on a narrow sidewalk and then take a right turn. At that point a wide paved trail (apparently a city trail) lies straight ahead with no marking, so I took the logical path and eventually wound up dead ended in front of a high school. To get back to the trail from where I was at I had to take a very busy, no shoulder road (Old Mission) to connect to the East Central Trail. On the way back, the ECT dead ended with no signs or arrows. Whoever manages this trail needs to install signs or at least arrows. Also, as far as signs go it would be nice to get some idea of point-to-point distances. For markings and signage this trail gets a BIG RED "F".

And while they're at it why not put in some porta-potties and water fountains--there are NO facilities or stores on this trail--so pack in your water & food supply.

With that said this trail was very nice & smooth with lush vegetation on both sides. Why not add to what's been done to make it more user friendly.

Great Job with this park City of Kissimmee!

December, 2019 by luisalberto_25

2019.11.29 Black Friday, yep! Busy Shopping Centers & traffic...nope, NOT for this guy. I took my bicycle with me on an easy 20 minute urban train ride, from downtown Orlando to this BEAUTIFUL PARK in Kissimmee! The SunRail station is a short distance from Kissimmee Lakefront Park. FYI ...SunRail only operates during the weekdays. Ample Parking, Great for Bike rides, walks, jogging. I will return and explore the ride along side Neptune road

Historic Jungle Trail

We loved this trail¿¿¿¿¿¿

June, 2019 by realtorclaudia

Last weekend we have a marvelous Sunday experience in this trail. It has everything and more ...toilets, beautiful river view, parking and access to the river. The sand is OK and in the pavement part is almost without traffic. 5 stars for this trail.

Great Scenic Trail

April, 2019 by heochief

WoW, We rode this trail in April on a clear sunny day. My third trail in Florida and this one was my favorite. The scenic value is fantastic. The trail is a sand trail but was well compacted. We started out at the trailhead and instantly we were hit with fantastic sights. A ton of wildlife coupled with tropical vegetation that I could only describe as a tropical dessert. The trail is in between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean and sights of each. The trail is well labeled. Bring extra water on this ride. Not much area for shade. Short ride but I am sure you will find yourself like us and just slowed it down and took it in.

Good Trail

April, 2019 by fdb3

This was the first time I have ridden the trail all the way from New Smyrna Beach to Titusville. Overall the trail is flat, straight, and the pavement excellent. There are very few road crossings in the Volusia County portion of the trail. But in the Brevard County portion, there are many road crossings, some that are very treacherous. Also there are benches along the trail in Volusia County and none in Brevard County. Much of the trail is through the woods and beautiful but as you get to Mims the trail parallels US1 and is not nearly as scenic. Overall, a great place to ride if you use caution on the crossings in Brevard. Being flat and straight, it lacks a signature feature like a tunnel or viaduct. There is really nothing that makes you want to go and ride the trail as a destination. I give it 9 gears on a 10 speed cassette.
