Pine Island Bike Path

the staring and end point are cool

November, 2020 by koen.devits.usa

But what’s in between is maybe a bit dull. Long path next to main road. Yes it’s nicely paved so a smooth ride but it does not give much scenic views. So like some already suggested wonder off the path a bit for some more scenic views.

John Yarbrough Linear Park Trail

Fun ride

September, 2020 by netnamekjm

I tried this on a Sunday afternoon expecting to encounter a bit of traffic but really no traffic at all ! Pleasant, flat quiet ride next to the canal and RR with benches and picnic tables all along the route. Saw an alligator and misc birds and wildlife along the way. Parked at the Home Depot on 6 mile Cypress and 41 .....short ride from there to trail.. Will def do again!

Cape Haze Pioneer Trail

So many better trails than this

August, 2020 by janet3511

Have done all trails in West Fl. This trail is flat, has many evasive plants and has little to no cover. It’s a narrow trail and there are many better trails on west coast.

Sanibel Island Shared-Use Paths

Our favorite vacation spot made better with the paths

August, 2020 by julie.dwenger

Sanibel is our favorite vacation spot and part of the draw is how well the city has maintained its natural state and allows for easy commuting by bike. So much to see along the way including nature preserves, we saw an alligator on one of them, access to virtually anywhere. We rented ebikes on our last visit, would love to drive sometime in order to just bring our own ebikes.

Pine Island Bike Path

overall pretty good trail

July, 2020 by petezambetti

After reading other reviews I was a bit hesitant but rode from Matlacha (don’t recommend as road shoulder is pretty narrow). Once on Pine Island I went North to Bookelia and then went the length of the island South to St. James. While not the best trail I’ve been on it was very passable for a road bike with all of it paved. If you think you will see great water views, go somewhere else! Almost all of it is just a wide concrete sidewalk. There is a crossover at one point you have to pay attention to as it is not meant for bicycles, 90 degree angles makes you slow down quick. Covered 38.6 miles total! I will do it again.

Awesome trail but it needs parking at both ends!!

John Yarbrough Linear Park Trail

A nice bike ride... but some traffic to cross

June, 2020 by robertcwahlert

I've been biking JY Linear Trail about 5 mornings per week since it re-opened from COVID. Great nature setting within metro Ft Myers with lots of wild life in the adjacent waters paralleling the trail. The down side of riding end to end is the need to cross 4 roads, one quite busy, and one with pedestrian cross walk & flashing lights that unfortunately not all morning commuters obey. Small aircraft fans will enjoy Page Field as the trail abuts one end of the runway.

Cape Haze Pioneer Trail

May 2020

Very nice trail but crossings need lights. Rode 22 miles all the way to the Gasparilla Causeway paid the $3 per bike and turned around. Its beautiful but Gasparilla is next on the list. I will bring the bikes to the Island and then we ride from there. Just waiting for the Bars to open so the watering hole is satisfied for both of Us. I should have parked closer to do both rides in one. Stay tuned for the second half.

Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST)

High marks for Lake "O" Trail

April, 2020 by thom11187

Parked at the Port Mayaca lock area right off of 441 S. and easily got right on the trail and headed north. Did the 14 miles mentioned in the reviews and it was great--no construction in that area. Well paved path, beautiful scenery on either side, the lake is majestic! Passed 6-7 other bikers over the course of 2 hours, so not well traveled on a weekday or maybe it's the Covid crisis? I plan to go further next time or head south from there and see where that leads. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because there are no bathrooms or real shaded areas at all during that stretch so be prepared for that--we had perfect weather, not terribly hot. Maybe it changes in different areas depending on where you are on the lake, if so I'd like to hear about it.

Cape Haze Pioneer Trail

Great biking trail for beginners like myself! Scenic, mostly flat, and even a couple bridges and beautiful water sights!

Cape Haze Pioneer Trail

Nice trail to ride

Did the entire trail today by bike. Nice flat trail with shady areas here and there. I saw a black rat snake and a pair of Bobwhite Quail. Many birds.

Boca Grande Bike Path

Don't miss this trail

March, 2020 by tadams61

My wife and I rode this trail this morning. We started at the North end, visited both light houses, then rode back from where we started. My speedometer showed 19.5 miles for the round trip so it was a bit longer than we expected but well worth the trip. We had ridden the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail last week and were going to ride it again but with the amount of time we spent at the two light houses and the fact that we had ridden that trail just last week, we decided to skip riding it again. We didn't climb the tall light house but we did spend quite a bit of time in the museum at the other light house. Well worth spending time there.
