Dry Creek Trail (Modesto)

Nice, flat, pretty trail

May, 2017 by bobdudeeb

Had a nice relaxing ride along the trail in May. Weather was sunny but pleasant. The trail description is accurate: the trail follows Dry Creek, which had water after the Winter's heavy rains. The trail passes through several parks, as well as oak trees and grassland. We saw several people walking and biking on the trail, but it was not nearly as crowded as the Crystal Springs Trail. Recommended for Spring and Fall and possibly Winter, if it's not raining. Can be very hot in the Summer.

Dry Creek Trail (Modesto)

bike ride

Nice calm cool day for a ride this morning, a few dips and curves beautiful scenery that was mountain and a meadow like. Good for my son and I to try out as we are both not used to long rides yet but hope to continue to learn and gather more experience while enjoying some nature.

If you want your wheels chewed up by the jagged rock, be my guest. My husband and I ended up skating around town because it was much smoother!!

My family and I rode our bikes the complete trail on Sat. and enjoyed it so much went back next day to ride and walk our dogs. Everyone there on trail very friendly and doing their thing for exercise and fun. I really enjoyed the dirt trails close to the river. Its a great place to spend your time.

French Camp Slough Trail

5 mile run

September, 2016 by emmgland

We went on a 5 mile run this morning. It was a nice trail with 75% of it having a river view which was nice! However, there is absolutely no shade so I suggest sunscreen and being done by 11am especially in the summer.

Merced River Trail

The Grumpy Old man

May, 2016 by c_dier

05/28/2016 Unshaded - Yes; limited.
Tons of sticker bushes - 5 varieties.
Challenging - Meh; Mostly flat with small inclines.
Watch for gopher/varmint holes.

Was easy to find on the Briceburg side. This trail was enjoyable, mostly. Bring your non-cloth hiking boots/shoes or wind up with "Bullet Ant" shoes.

The best part? The "rock fairy" a nice gentleman named Eric. Was very informative about geology.

Next trip is hike upstream, raft down stream.

West Side Rails (Tuolumne City to North Fork/ Tuolumne River)

Nice and Easy

April, 2016 by chipdier

The trail is mostly gravel until the 4 mile mark then it turns more rugged. About the 7.2m mark the trail becomes overgrown, bring your machete!

Dry Creek Trail (Modesto)

Great bike ride!

Enjoyed the length and condition of this trail. Did not like the street parking we found at Moose park end, so went to LaLoma park. Big lot with lots of activity.

Tuolumne River Trail

Good biking trail

March, 2016 by jmccaslin

Enjoyed the short bike ride on his trail. Found the park by gps: 1198 Tioga in Modesto. Parking on the street was all handicap. Found large parking lot off the street right before that lot in the park.

Hetch Hetchy Trail

Don't go by yourself ladies

May, 2015 by cruiserlady

Great asphalt surface that runs from Tully to Sisk. Needs some policing and we see a lot of creepy guys just walking the trail with hands in their pockets. Had a scary incident where one guy on a bike and one standing in the path wouldn't move. We didn't stop but went on the grass around them quickly. Seriously do not walk or bike on this path alone.
