Cool sights in wildlife. People here are snotty techies¿. No one says hello back. But ride is nice out to the bay
If you start from Oakleys Big Break until the End in Brentwood it’s about a 20 mile RT. Safe, nice sites.
This trail is a good length for a stroll. It is hilly and scenic. It is in a valley. The trail is asphalt with cracks sealed with tar. Except for the east end, which is concrete and very wide. I don’t recommend it for skating because it is rough and short. Also the hill at the west end near the bathrooms/parking is very steep.
We went on this trail yesterday and really liked it! There’s a little bit of up and down, but an ambitious 9 year old and a reluctant 12 year old did it on bikes with gears. Do not park at the southern most lot, though as the path is closed a mile after starting due to a bridge being under construction. Start at the second lot going north at St. Mary’s and Moraga.
Rode this trail from Elk Grove via Grant Line to Folson Rec. Area while visitingfor the holidays. Nice flat trail, great for getting away from the traffic. Pretty impressed with the trail system out here, you can get 50 plus miles out of it.
The short portion below the museum of Science and curiosity was nice and then the short portion through Old Town was also fun. The rest was navigating through one run down neighborhood after another.
Nice trail thru town...perfect for all ages...
I have ridden this trail three times. Each time has been a great experience! This afternoon, I stopped in at coyote creek golf course for lunch and it was great! I enjoy watching the r/c airplanes and love going to Anderson reservoir at the end. It’s a great ride and can’t wait for winter!
Trail is best route biking from Folsom Cordova area to elk Grove. Not that many want -a- be Lance Armstrong jackass's on trail.😁
Avoid the southern end of the trail from West Virginia street to Park Ave. the trail has significant trash, broken glass and smells of human waste. This is not a pleasant ride.
So, I'm glad this trail exists, and I really wish it was a bit better maintained, but in comparison with other trails in the area, it has some significant street riding. I did the entire trail, and it was nice, but there's more possibility of car interaction than I care for.
That said, if I needed to get up from one end of the trail to the other on a bike, this is a great way to go. I just prefer having no interactions where a car has a chance to cause me a bad day. Could get to a caltrain station, if that were necessary, and that's a positive.
Way to much gravel on the trail. Also, large cracks through paved areas.
