Western Reserve Greenway

Nice, flat and scenic trail

September, 2020 by bpatch

We completed another 10 miles of this trail. Beautiful day! This time we started at the trailhead in Orwell. Love this trail. Very well maintained throughout. Mostly flat, however, this is one of those trails that you will pedal no matter which direction you head but nothing intense. Just a great ride.

John C. Oliver Multi-Purpose Loop Trail

Great trail

September, 2020 by bpatch

We have done this trail many times over the years. We love that it is a challenging loop trail. Many rolling hills and a few steep ones too. Shady for the most part depending on the time of the year. Trail well maintained.

Pymatuning State Park Spillway Trail

Short but sweet

September, 2020 by bpatch

Trail could certainly use some help. Mostly grass with some sections where there is a little gravel. Very bumpy. We started at the Spillway which for the most part is dead center of the trail. Nothing is marked as to beginning or end; just kind of stops at both ends. If you're looking for short and flat, but rough, this is the trail for you.

MetroParks Bikeway

Almost a 5

September, 2020 by gleesue

Nice trail that we will ride again. Couldn't quite give a 5 though. The cracks in the asphalt are in need of repair and a bit annoying. Also, a few too many road crossings than I would like. One other thing that would be nice to see is some picnic tables for resting along the way. The only nice rest area is at the bike shop at Kirk Road.

Stavich Bicycle Trail

PA Side > OH Side

September, 2020 by mkimous

As others have described the PA side of this trail is fairly well maintained. There are a couple bad spots that are marked so you can avoid them as of September 2020. I crossed into Ohio and immediately had to turn around because the pavement was ridiculous. The trail has a few gradual inclines, if you park at the New Castle lot you will have that last little workout as its a gradual uphill to the parking lot.

Allegheny River Trail

Beautiful trail

September, 2020 by krista02121

We rode out of Emlenton, where you can only ride north. We did a total of 24.5 miles, out and back. The trail blacktop was buckled in areas, it was worse coming back. Otherwise, it was a gorgeous ride. Heed the warnings about a flashlight. The tunnels were around miles 7 and 12.25 going north from Emlenton. You can’t see anything in the tunnels without light.

Queen City Trail

Great addition to Oil Creek State Park Trail

September, 2020 by vicki1960

In addition to the nearly 10 miles of the Oil Creek State Park Trail, you can access this trail for a safe way to get to Titusville. Nice paved trail.

Oil Creek State Park Trail

Always a great ride!

September, 2020 by vicki1960

Enjoy this trail very much traveling through the State Park. Plenty of shade and a very quiet ride.
We parked in Petroleum Center (or Centre...take your pick). There is a lot at the Park Office .Rest rooms and picnic shelters nearby.
Traveled North on the trail to the Titusville end at Drake Well. Saw some deer from a distance.
Once at the North end of the trail we crossed the road to access Queen City Trail for a few additional miles.
In Titusville there are places to eat and purchase water if you need.
You can also bike over to nearby Drake Well park. It's open, seasonal.

Maple Highlands Trail

Worth the drive

September, 2020 by timmy0728

While working in Mentor, found this trail thanks to TrailLink
Took about 1/2 hour to get to but worth it.
Parked at the Tara Creek Parkway. Ran north towards Chardon. Ran 3.5 up, then ran back down to Middlefield.
Trail is very nice.
Paved. Level. Only a couple small grade hills, mostly while going over the covered bridges, which are great.
The trail is marked every half mile on the benches along the trail.
Mostly wooded/shade. Mostly bikers on trail and everyone of them notified me that they were passing. Everyone!
If in the area, and looking to get a couple miles in, head down here.
Enjoy seeing all the Amish buggies and the trail as well.

Moraine State Park Bike Trail

Winding with small hills

September, 2020 by vicki1960

This 7 mile trail is very technical. Out and back, winding and uphill both ways. A great workout for sure.
Trail follows along the lake. Picnic areas and restrooms along the trail. Most of it is shaded traveling though the woods.
You have to really pay attention on this one as this trail is very well used by all out enjoying it. You may be cruising along then come to a quick turn to discover people out in the middle around the bend. So if you're out there going for speed, this is not the trail. If you're out for a leisurely ride, this is the right trail.
There is a bike rental at the trail head, call ahead for hours. Open most days throughout the summer and shortened hours off season. However if the weather is nice and people are looking to rent, they will be open.

Sandy Creek Trail

Very Nice Trail

September, 2020 by jackybob

On 09/05/20 we rode this trail from end to end and it definitely lived up to expectations. There are several high bridges along the way which provide for some really nice views. I imagine that in a month or so when the leaves are showing their colors the views will be spectacular.
