on a beautiful day what better way to spend a few hours very clean long scenic a terrific workout...
Rode entire length northbound on a Thursday morning in February. Busy trail: walkers, road bikers and many recumbent bikes. Trail was in very good shape with occasional short bumpity sections and a few divots at edges. Lots of benches. Well marked. Easy to find trail access points. Beautiful park in Inverness. Would definitely ride again.
Very nice, wide trail with lots of beautiful views of the lakes. Also there are opportunities to go off the trail into the town of Clermont. Some reviewers commented about the hills... there are some decent hills for Florida on part of the trail, but they're not bad.
My wife and I rode the segment westbound starting at the trailhead just on the west side of I-95 all the way to the Maytown spur trailhead at Virgies. Nicely paved trail, below average scenery. Zero shade. This ride would be brutal in the summer. We chose this segment because the portion of the trail in downtown Titusville passed through a not so nice part of town.
Easy to ride and it has beautiful scenery. I had such a nice ride I didn't I had gone over five miles. I will most definitely be back
Beautiful bike ride!
We rode the entire trail from Dunnellon to Dade City. Wonderful ride with plenty of benches, if needed. Don’t miss eating at Southern Harmony Cafe. Great food and great people.
My husband and I love this trail , it’s and easy ride and beautifully maintained by the trail staff and state workers ;) highly recommend for a low impact ride or run¿¿
We enjoyed this trail so much that we decided to stay another night in the area to explore another part of the trail. There were many places that were wonderfully shady and they have restrooms along the way. They seemed to be patching the trail regularly, however we did see some rough areas on the trail around Hernando, but with a 12 foot wide trail there was room to pass.
It’s a nice area around the lake but not a nature trail at all.
Good area for some training runs. Only good hill section is the bridge over the turnpike. Some sections of the paved route are being pushed up by tree roots so be careful if doing any night running. Also street crossings across Neptune Road can be a bit adventurous and time consuming. Not all the street crossing buttons work. No parking at the end of the route in Saint Cloud but I park at Partin Triangle Park and then jump on the trail since I live on the Saint Cloud side.
I took this as a diversion to the East Central Trail only a short ways. It was only a wide sidewalk right next to a very busy road with many intersections. Maybe this will one day be a good connector or maybe it gets better towards Sanford but for now it's not worth the effort. Hard to see how Florida can call sidewalks trails. I guess it's better than riding on a busy road with no shoulders.
