Panhandle Trail

Nice ride

July, 2025 by bobgwinn11

Very nice trail. Asphalt in great condition, except from Mc Donald to Falls Mills which was decent crushed limestone. Grades were very gentle, all1% or less. On a Monday we passed someone running or biking every 5-10 min. Overall a great experience

Pyamunting Valley Greenway

Enjoying this nice new trail

July, 2025 by vicki1960

Getting out and enjoying this nice newly built paved trail. We parked on Maple at the police station and headed Northwest to Leon road. There isn't much shade, goes through a few small/short wooded areas but mostly farmlands. Came back into Andover and navigated through town to connect to the Southern section. There is no set route through Andover, it's not that big of a town! We connected to Mill Street at the Car Wash on Main Street. Will say we waited at least 5 minutes to get the opportunity to cross with traffic. Hopped back on that trail at Mill St. and continued Southeast to Marvin Road. That section travels through wetlands and again mostly farmlands. Trail services in Andover: Grocery Store, gas stations, pizza shops, sub shop and ice cream stand.

Sandy Creek Trail (PA)

Summer Ride

July, 2025 by vicki1960

Parked at Belmar and biked down (literally) to Fishermans Cove and back then up to Van and returned back at Belmar. Trail is mostly shaded. Several wooded bridges along the trail crossing Sandy Creek, they seem to be showing their age with some loose boards. Mays Mill tunnel short, do not need a light. Coasting back from Van is a breeze! Sandy Creek and Allegheny River water levels low. Saw one doe and fawn.

Allegheny River Trail

Franklin to Sunnyslope and back

River flowing good since recent rains. Biked from Franklin to Sunnyslope and back, 12.5 miles each way for a 25 mile round trip. Not much shade.

Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

good choice for hot day

July, 2025 by dianefarmstronger

Aside from there not being a place to grab a bite close by in Washingtonville (ended up at Fat Ted’s which closes at 2) this was a good choice for a high 80s day. Lots of shade and beautiful. Could use better trail markings in Leetonia where we needed help finding the trail.

Trout Island Trail

A lot of mosquitoes and gnats.

July, 2025 by rsbrocklehurst

We went for a quick family ride with grandkids last night. The trail had a large amount of tall grass on it that had mowed onto the path. The bugs were bad.

Trail closed north of Templeton

July, 2025 by tedb

Surprised to find the closure over the Mahoning Creek just north of Templeton. Looks like it has been that way for a while despite a recent review not mentioning it. No detour posted.

Great Allegheny Passage

Riding on this was a bucket list trail. Had hoped to ride further on it but had time restraints. Great trail. The rest stop in Meyersdale is wonderful. Plan someday to return and ride more of it.

June 2025 Ride-Shade and more Shade!

June, 2025 by vicki1960

On a hot summer day, this is the trail to ride! Miles and miles of nothing but shade. Always an enjoyable ride on this trail. Follows French Creek which was muddy and high levels of water due to so much recent rains. Saw a hawk along the trail. And a turtle down near the Beans trailhead.
