Krome Path

great ride

May, 2020 by jrodr156

The trails actually been extended to 232 st sw now with what looks like further construction in progress.

New River Greenway

Very dangerous intersections

May, 2020 by andreina.duven

Nice path but the intersections are suicidal. On most of them the crossing sign doesn’t even work and people drive 50 MPH and cross without stopping. It could be perfect but we all want to live.

Southern Glades Trail

Trail is open

Definitely want to be on the west side of canal. That will take you down to Manatee Bay.

El Rio Trail

Great Ride!!

May, 2020 by wendyking323

My husband and I loved this path! He is 65 and I am 61 and we like a casual pace to enjoy the scenery and this was just that! Very flat, plenty of benches a long the way if you need to rest! The iguanas were amazing! We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to ride again!

El Rio Trail

Much Improved

April, 2020 by wendyjhoward

Nice trail along FAU campus and north. The trail has improved quite a bit over the last year, including a bike repair station by the Yamato Rd train station. Other improvements include tunnels under major roads. The northern part of the trail is somewhat narrow. But overall, worthwhile.

El Rio Trail

Short ride

March, 2020 by ffemtchild

If you start from the North you can park at Delray Oaks Natural area 2021 SW 29th St Delray Beach, head south on Congress on sidewalk once you cross over bridge splitting Delray from Boca make a right that’s the beginning from the North. Nice trail all the bridges to Spanish River, Yamato and the Tri-Rail are complete so you go underneath the overpassed. I went to the south end Glades and headed back over North at Yamato and went back south to ride in the Spanish River Athletic field and around by library. If you start out at the South End you can park at the CVS 686 Glades Rd Boca Raton, FL , cross over Glades at and hook a right that will be the South Entrance.

Hiatus Road Greenway

Fabulous

March, 2020 by remingtonmargo

This is right in my backyard. It runs North/South along Haitus from Oakland to State Road 84. Then you can go East to University or West all the way to Markum Park. We’ve done 20 miles back and forth on this trail! There’s a couple of intersections you have to cross including Sunrise Blvd. but free and clear overall.

Rickenbacker Trail

Detour off busy highway to Bear Cut Preserve

February, 2020 by rdavies

If you want a more peaceful ride, detour off the main trail at Bear Cut Preserve, then take the Crandon Park roads by the beach to the lighthouse. You can visit the old zoo and see the kite surfers and not deal with so much traffic.

M-Path Trail

Hard to recommend as a fun ride

February, 2020 by erk1024

We did the southern half of this trail on electric unicycles. The two big downsides of the trail are the many, many street crossings and the poor quality of the pavement. On an electric unicycle, electric scooter, One Wheel, etc. the ride is too bumpy to get much enjoyment out of it. The path is lined with trees which is good for shade, but the roots of those trees create sharp ridges in asphalt or broken concrete slabs. Just when you get up to a fun cruising speed, you hit the bumps. In some cases, those bumps are very hard to see in the mottled shadows cast by the trees. This would be less of a problem on a racing bike or mountain bike. I would definitely NOT recommend trying to use it for inline skating or electric skateboards. The bigger your wheels the better.

We only ended up doing half the trail because we spent half our time waiting at stoplights. There are _so many_ road crossings. So you ride for a minute or two, then wait a minute or two at a light. Our average speed was half what it normally was.

Following the trail is also a challenge. The "trail" often spits you out into a rail station or parking lot, and you have to hunt around for the trail again. We also encountered quite a bit of construction and had to take to the streets to get through some sections.

I'd give this trail two stars, except it has nice moments now and then--large elevated walkways above the street, or speeding through huge columns that support the train above.

Pompano Airpark Bike Trail

Very nice for a small-ish trail

January, 2020 by stvatandem

My wife and I, along with other tandem riding friends, rode this trail twice – first Clockwise, then C-Clockwise. Pavement is pretty smooth – no rough spots to speak of. Very few cross roads – most aren’t busy. We parked by the Dog Park – Free parking and some spaces are shaded by trees. Restrooms near the entrance are pretty well kept. We even had a chance to see the Goodyear Blimp – probably prepping for the Superbowl this coming weekend.
