Beautiful trail once you get onto it, but difficult to get to. Cypress Point Park is somewhat hard to find, being at the back of a business park with no indication it's there until you drive past all the buildings. Then, there is no indication how to get to the trail. When you do find it, it starts out OK, then takes you through some sidewalks and one short section that is covered with debris. Once you get through those three miles or so, it's beautiful!
Park has a lot to offer. There are lots of trails. However there are no trail maps to tell you how far and where they go. There was no one from the park staff to assist us. The bicycle trail was in good shape but does not make a loop. Maybe because of the time of year but there was no wild life to be seen other than a few birds.
Awesome place to ride any type of bicycle, walk or run. Safe place for families. Couple of places to stop and rest and get water. There is one bridge that is metal and can be slippery. Walk your bike a crossed it. Does cost $2.00 a day to park. Well maintained.
Busy during a weekday afternoon cuz it’s a great trail. Smooth. Extremely well signed including maximum speed 15 mph. A few road crossings. A few bridges that go over busy roads. Covered benches. Everyone was courteous: bikers, runners, skaters. Would ride it frequently if we lived close.
My kids and I tired about 6 miles of this trail today. We started in Dunedin to Honeymoon Island back to Dunedin our to Clearwater Beach and ended back where we began. It was about a 26 mile loop. We stopped at local spots to picnic, stretch, and snack. It was a delightful way to spend the day! We live far away, so we rented bikes at Kafe Racer. We usually ride road bikes, but I’m glad we did the hybrids as they were great on the off road sections we explored on Honeymoon Island. The staff there were excellent. I really enjoyed this section — yes, it had interruptions. Yes, it was busy in spots.
The trail over the Clearwater Causeway is big and sweeping. It’s well signed. It’s definitely loud, busy, and along traffic. I really enjoyed moving at least twice as fast as the cars slowly making their way out to Clearwater Beach. The East section has steep climbs. This isn’t an “easy” ride. The stretch up onto the causeway is a spiraling corkscrew. Fun, but might make you just a little dizzy!
Nice smooth ride along the water. The paved surface is smooth and is well maintained. Mornings with the sun coming up from over the city in the distance. or in the evening with the beautiful sunset. The cause way is a great place to get in a nice straight line run. The bridges provide some incline. Many picnic area for breaks with scenic views of the bay.
Scenic ride down by the water. Pedestrians and other bikers were very cordial and there was plenty of room to navigate around. Highly recommend getting some bikes and taking this trail. Got on the trail from the downtown trail.
The first 2 1/2 miles would have been worth 4 stars but the unexpected short length puts it at 1 for me.
We loved it!
This is a pretty ride for sure and basically a nice facility. But the trail itself needs work is several spots. Way too many potholes are lurking and no evidence of recent patches.
Great ride on Ream Wilson trail! Lots to see, some shade and sun along the pathway.
