It’s worth the fee for crossing over the causeway! There are parts that wind through the subdivisions and parts that ride along a very busy road- but riding safely on the trail. We’ll definitely return for another ride! Several public accesses to beaches. It’s a beautiful island!
Great paved surface, used by riders and walker/runners. Nice and wide, well marked. A few road crossings with crossing signals and several “overpasses “ over really busy roads. Definitely worth the ride!
Nicely paved, several street crossings. There and back 16+ miles. Great ride!
Great trail, tremendous trail, believe me! You can ask anyone, the trail is one of the best! I’ve been on many trails, this one is tremendous.
Parking, water, and restrooms are available at the South Trailhead at 14608 Ben C Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway (the trailhead is shown on the map but parking, etc, are not indicated). On the Apple Maps app, put in “Daniel’s Buckingham Trail” to see the location of the Daniel’s Parkway dirt parking area. To cross Daniel’s Parkway go west to the first traffic light and use the crosswalk.
The paths are very long, well maintained, and scenic. Roller skating around and along the pond is a delightful experience.
Started our ride at the north end trailhead and rode south to the causeway. Nice surface, straight, mostly flat trail. Great views of the canals and waterways. 16 miles, great ride.
We had a lovely afternoon biking this trail. It's flat except for the handful of times you go over a bridge to cross a busy road. We saw several gopher tortoises along the way, zero alligators so that was good. We rented our bikes from Legacy Bike rental which is adjacent to the trail. We were able to leave our car there which was nice.
Don't get run over by all the nasty gulf carts flying by...
So many amazing trails! In-line skated the entire island and had fun using my skates to commute everywhere. I definitely recommend and will do it again ¿ trail quality was surprisingly pretty good and I loved the jungle atmosphere.
After getting down there and running Ding Darling trail we ended on the bake path the goes back up to where we parked. We then saw signs stating class 1 e-bike only. If you have a class 2 be aware that there are signs posted that you are not allowed to run the bike path. Was very disappointed as we don’t use the throttle on any bike trails and did not know this was going to be an issue.
