Venetian Waterway Park

Venice trail

February, 2018 by popko

Started from the train depot. Avaiable restrooms always a plus. Nice level concrete trail on the east side, but like previous reviews, completely open so maybe not so good on hot days. However, after crossing the bridge to the west side, there are no signs as to how to get on and follow the trail to Casperen beach. Also, be nice if the map showed the location of the bridge.

Legacy Trail

We loved this trail. Started in Sarasota, enjoyed the flatter than a flitter ride to Venice, rode into town and enjoyed lunch at one of the little sidewalk cafes and then rode back, 24 miles total. A very enjoyable day.

Legacy Trail (FL)

Fun, good scenery, greenery and quiet

January, 2018 by caroljensen

I loved this trail. Flat, wide, smooth, shade and lots of greenery. The trail doesn’t go through industrial areas which I like. I went from Laurel Park going north to Pine Ranch Station. Of all the trails I’ve done in southwest Florida, so far this is my favorite. There are places to sit in the shade and everyone was friendly. I was the only in-line skater but I rarely see other skaters on the trails. I felt like I could skate forever on this trail. I didn’t like crossing the street at the detour but that should be repaired soon. Good parking at Laurel Park and a bathroom by the playground. I didn’t see any wildlife. I didn’t see any children on this trail which was odd. But lots of bikers. I drove 1hour and 45 minutes to use this trail and it was worth it! Then I visited downtown Venice by car, which is very close and had lunch there.

Ream Wilson Clearwater Trail

Trail down by spectrum field

December, 2017 by rtxbs

I started to walk the trail from Old Coachman Road at starting point but had to turn back as trail is down at spectrum field. The sign said it would be down through December 2017. Anyone know when this will be repaired?

Boca Grande Bike Path

Totally worth the drive down from Tampa

November, 2017 by adamswonger

Had a lot of fun biking around the island, lots of great place to stop and check out!!! Highly recommend for the casual rider, I got about 19 miles in, island is only 8 miles long. So more of a scenic and exploring ride than a ride to get a lot of miles in

I've been writing this trail for the last 20+ years,it's awesome! scenery is fantastic, and the repair stations, with tools, and air and usually water, great planning. People are courteous always saying hello, how are you. I look forward to riding this trail, every march and October, when I'm vacationing at Indian rocks Beach. Congrats to the wonderful people who maintain and volunteer to keep this trail so wonderful. Thank to all... Dave,Lewiston N.Y.

Venetian Waterway Park

Cruising the waterway!

October, 2017 by coconutbay

This is a nice paved trail that allows you to pedal (or walk) along part of the intercoastal. Seems odd to pedal and wave at passing boats, but there you go.

INSIDER INFO:
1) Saturday mornings there's a street market near Michael Biehl park where you can take your wife to buy produce, plants, or whatever makes her happy. They close about noon I think.
2) The trail goes under a few overpasses, giving you some shelter if you get caught in a drizzle/rain event.
3) You almost certainly will see small planes (today a Lear jet) take off and land at the adjacent airport.
4) The trail ends at the beach if you want to take a dip before going back.
5) No hills- easy-peasy trail.

Legacy Trail (FL)

Super trail

October, 2017 by coconutbay

Since we've bought our recumbent trikes, we've been to this trail 4 times in 6 weeks. It's asphalt, so no problems for those of you with skinny street tires. Walkers, with or without dogs, are common. Folks are usually friendly and wave or "good morning" as you pass them. A bike repair station and some Portopotties are dispersed along the way. You can also enter the Oscar Scherer state park from the trail.

You cross streets only a couple of times, but, no sweat since there are signals to get the traffic to stop.

Squirrels are common, but we saw an otter on the side of the trail once. What a hoot!

INSIDER INFO:
1) Pack a picnic because there are places along the way to stop.
2) On one end is a good sized overpass that spans U.S. 41. Good news is that you can fly coming down, but the bad news is that it can be a test for the knees. More good news- there's a super good bike shop in the shopping center that backs up to it. If you have a mechanical problem, they can fix you up.
3) The Historic Train Depot on one end is a good place to park. Restrooms, water and picnic tables are there.

Awesome Trail!

September, 2017 by fitnpeaceful

I often ride the Pinellas Trail from Gulfport up to Largo and catch Gulf Blvd on the way back. The trail is smooth and easy to follow! My favorite part of the trail is across the water north of Park Blvd/Target in St. Pete.

Courtney Campbell Trail

easy and enjoyable

August, 2017 by beckasdream

We chose this as our first trail as new recreational bikers. It was great; nice view, flat trail that is usually nice and wide. Coming from Cypress Point Park I would agree the first section was a little bumpy and not as wide as I would like (with the chance or oncoming bikers). But once you get to the actual causeway portion it's a super comfortable and relaxing ride.

Courtney Campbell Trail

such a good ride worth it

August, 2017 by bluefox1930

the view was very nice ended up parking at Cypress Point Park eode it to the end of the CC. however it does connect to other trails. but from the park to the end ends up being 11.02 miles the little hill is a killer ¿¿
