Rode the trail again but took the 47 mile route for my 1st CENTURY ride, just wish I could have gotten three more miles on that side for the full 50. The new addition to trail is nearly done but is accessible, just be aware of the incomplete curbs! Trail is mostly shaded until you get to Sanford’s Coast line which is beautiful¿. Came into close encounters with two baby bobcats at mile 92 as the sun began to set. Let’s say the adrenaline kicked in very quick. Warning there are three overpass so if you ride entire trail save some energy but you can skip the over pass and pass underneath for wimps only! SAFE TRAVELS!¿¿¿¿
This is more like an alley between what are not nice areas.. felt unsafe. Plus the pavement is in bad shape
My son & I enjoyed this trail. It’s scenic and clean. We took many breaks just to take photos. Tips: this trail doesn’t have restrooms, use it before going. Bring a first aid kit (thankfully I did since my son fell off his bike) & bring water. Overall, we’d recommend this trail.
My son & I love this trail.. very scenic & clean. We took a ton of breaks just to take photos & enjoy the fresh air. We’d highly recommend it. Please be prepared with a small first aid kit (my son fell off his bike, glad we came prepared), water bottles, & be advised no bathrooms are available at this trail.
Spacious Trails throughout lovely master planned communities and quaint downtown Lake Nona.Even connections that are not a part of the trail are fairly wide and an enjoyable ride.
Not a fun ride. Not sure how this is in the rails to trails guide, it would be fine if you needed to commute to work. All you hear is traffic and not much to see; trail is a little quieter once you get to the school. A lot of the pavement has roots, asphalt is in need of repair and there are poor transitions to the streets. Caution on the crosswalk as some cars ignore the crosswalk signal even while the lights are flashing. Lots of better trails to choose from in FL
Finally the connection of the second and third section is near completion at mile marker 14.5 where the trail dead ended into a recycling dump before. In addition they are constructing public restrooms along the trail at the Winter Springs High School sports complex. This turns the trail from a 4 to a 5 star bike trail, though it still has many road crossings and certain sections get quite busy on weekends. People are overall polite and cooperative when you announce yourself and communicate well with drivers at the many 4 way stops. I love this trail since a lot of it runs through shady wooded areas, especially between Longwood and Oviedo.
Parked in Sand Point Park, rode to Aurantia Trailhead & back (20 mi) No services, but there are a few places nearby to stop for water. Check out Pier 220 for lunch & a great water view
Great trail , nicely kept , water& bench seating available! Easily connects to other central trails !

I rode this trail today and it was really nice. The surface is packed sand and I had no problems riding on it with my smaller hybrid tires. In 15 miles I probably only had 5 total cars pass me . The scenery was very nice along the water and through the jungle. There were some areas with homes along the way.
Looks like most of the trail is cut and parts of it are graded. There is creek bridge installed - not ready for primetime yet.
Anyone have an update on the completion of the Osteen Maytown Rd section.. The last time I rode that section part of it had the rock base on it and part still being cut through woods... Thanks Chris
