Dry Creek Trail (Modesto)

Nice, flat, pretty trail

May, 2017 by bobdudeeb

Had a nice relaxing ride along the trail in May. Weather was sunny but pleasant. The trail description is accurate: the trail follows Dry Creek, which had water after the Winter's heavy rains. The trail passes through several parks, as well as oak trees and grassland. We saw several people walking and biking on the trail, but it was not nearly as crowded as the Crystal Springs Trail. Recommended for Spring and Fall and possibly Winter, if it's not raining. Can be very hot in the Summer.

Dry Creek Trail (Modesto)

bike ride

May, 2017 by ghorney33

Nice calm cool day for a ride this morning, a few dips and curves beautiful scenery that was mountain and a meadow like. Good for my son and I to try out as we are both not used to long rides yet but hope to continue to learn and gather more experience while enjoying some nature.

Coyote Creek - Safety

April, 2017 by ravigai

I have been using the trail between Heller Park to Anderson lake for a few years now. This stretch (15 miles of it) is very safe, you can see families biking/running/walking. Trail is shaded and beautiful, you can spot deer regularly. With Coyote creek itself flowing with with lots of water - the trails is amazingly beautiful.

Coyote Creek Trail (San Jose)

Police suggested a different trail

March, 2017 by vdavis2008z

I headed to this trail this past weekend based on the reviews that it was the nicer and safer trail in the area. I arrived at the trail head to find police activity. They were encouraging a number of homeless to move on. I asked if it was safe to run, and they said it probably would be if I stayed alert, but they recommended another trail that they felt would be safer. They encouraged me to go to Las Gatos Creek trail instead.

Coyote Creek Trail (San Jose)

Northern Section is paved

November, 2016 by wastedoncemore

I ran on the northern section while visiting the area on business. The trail is flat, paved, and quite nice. I saw some geese and a crane around the trail. The trail had squished snails and geese poop, but not an overwhelming amount. Seems like the trail could be extended further, but it's nice for its small section.

TERRIBLE FOR INLINE SKATING!!!

September, 2016 by sublimegirl209

If you want your wheels chewed up by the jagged rock, be my guest. My husband and I ended up skating around town because it was much smoother!!

French Camp Slough Trail

5 mile run

September, 2016 by emmgland

We went on a 5 mile run this morning. It was a nice trail with 75% of it having a river view which was nice! However, there is absolutely no shade so I suggest sunscreen and being done by 11am especially in the summer.

Merced River Trail

The Grumpy Old man

May, 2016 by c_dier

05/28/2016 Unshaded - Yes; limited.
Tons of sticker bushes - 5 varieties.
Challenging - Meh; Mostly flat with small inclines.
Watch for gopher/varmint holes.

Was easy to find on the Briceburg side. This trail was enjoyable, mostly. Bring your non-cloth hiking boots/shoes or wind up with "Bullet Ant" shoes.

The best part? The "rock fairy" a nice gentleman named Eric. Was very informative about geology.

Next trip is hike upstream, raft down stream.

Arroyo Mocho Trail

Different View!

This is a excellent trail for bike riding. The other posts that gave it negative reviews are full of crap.
I ride there all the time and always enjoy it.
