Withlacoochee State Trail

Trail pavement has been neglected

August, 2019 by aerocfd

As a long time user of the Withlacoochee State Trail I noticed the pavement over the past 10 years has been neglected. The paved surface is extremely bumpy and somewhat dangerous especially at the north end of the Trail. Passing other riders is dangerous because you never know when an edge pothole is going to take you out as you pass. In addition, it seems riders on this trail like to spread out making passing with available pavement dangerous. What ever happened to the rule "keep right". I would go somewhere else to ride.

Cady Way Trail

This is a great trail

Ive read some of the other reviews and as for me?...Orlando and Orange County are doing great with getting trails in place. Seminole County should learn from them. This trail is pretty awesome if you live nearby you can jump on and off and get just about anything you want if you know the area. If you just visiting stay in Baldwin Park and enjoy all they have to offer.

Fort Fraser Trail

my 'home' trail

July, 2019 by antler.eh

This is a trail that I ride 2-3 times a week. A lot of times we will park on the south end at a Pizza Hut off of Rt 60 just a little west of the trail. It makes for a nice place to have lunch after our ride. The trail is nice, but is getting some rough areas that need to be repaired. There is a bike store on the west side of 98 that has a Saturday morning group ride at 7:30 that uses the trail, so, sometimes a bit of congestion. A lot of nature along the way, especially if you have an off-road bike, you can take a 1/2 mile paved spur that leads to the Circle B Bar Preserve. Beware, there are alligators in THEIR natural habitat.

fantastic

Once again, I have to tip my helmet to the people planning Florida's biking system!!! I have ridden (and reviewed ) some of the other trails on the planned cross Florida route. The MHC is another shining example of what a State and counties can achieve!!! What a great use of taxpayer money!!! The trail in very well maintained. Very clean. The ride is varied with hills, dense forest, curves, a newer growth forest-all on a nice wide , smooth path!!! I did the 33 mile round trip and am looking forward to the extensions that are planned in the future!!!! Bravo!!!

Lake Apopka Loop Trail

Auburndale TECO Trail

A nice, easy trail.

This trail is very peaceful and easy to walk. Mile markers every half mile (though some are obliterated), potable water on both ends of the trail, and a bathroom on the south end. I recommend bringing a cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray, and a water bottle; you will need them. It takes me about five hours to walk the whole thing, round trip. The only fly in the ointment is that there's a lot of really trashy yards near the trail - mostly old cars and buses that have been sitting and rusting for a long time. I even saw a few cars from the 1950s that have apparently been rotting for decades! That's made up for by the beautiful scenery.

In a nutshell: I recommend this trail for a beginner. It's in a straight line. so you can't get lost, and it's close to civilization besides. It's a good way to see rural Florida, but close enough to civilization so that bears and crocodiles are not a problem.

Spring to Spring Trail

Pleasant and well used

April, 2019 by martinf

We rode from the Lake Monroe Park TH at the southern end near I 4 expressway to Gemini Springs. My wife is not an experienced bicyclist and does not ride longer distances or on the road. She loved this trail! It is very scenic with shaded board walks or smooth asphalt surfaces. It is moderately busy with cyclists, walkers and skaters. The people are courteous + unusually friendly. We had several great conversations when asking the locals for information. Past Gemini Springs it becomes more suburban along roads, but the initial portion is mostly wooded. We turned around and drove to Green Spring which is beautiful but emits sulfur odor.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Good Trail

April, 2019 by fdb3

This was the first time I have ridden the trail all the way from New Smyrna Beach to Titusville. Overall the trail is flat, straight, and the pavement excellent. There are very few road crossings in the Volusia County portion of the trail. But in the Brevard County portion, there are many road crossings, some that are very treacherous. Also there are benches along the trail in Volusia County and none in Brevard County. Much of the trail is through the woods and beautiful but as you get to Mims the trail parallels US1 and is not nearly as scenic. Overall, a great place to ride if you use caution on the crossings in Brevard. Being flat and straight, it lacks a signature feature like a tunnel or viaduct. There is really nothing that makes you want to go and ride the trail as a destination. I give it 9 gears on a 10 speed cassette.

Cross Seminole Trail

Not What I Expected At All

April, 2019 by noelparallel

I share the same sentiment of many reviews made already. I will take partial credit for not reading the description of the trail in full detail. I had no idea that the trail disconnects in many places and expands through heavy traffic. I also drove an hour to get to this trail, looking forward to 22.8 miles one way as opposed to 22.8 round trip. Very disappointing.

How to build a trail

Great trail with lots of curves and hills to keep it interesting. Also a lot of shade and few road crossings. Other then Santos trail head there is no water available which can be an issue. Bike rentals available at Santos trail head.

First Bike Trail

First bike trail I’ve ridden since moving to Florida. I really enjoyed this one. Goes past the Kissimmee Historic Society, & it’s a very scenic ride.
