East Central Regional Rail Trail

Scenic ride in nature

July, 2020 by eproagi

We parked our car at Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Memorial Park which has facilities. We left the park and turned right on a Parker Avenue to pick up the Greenway Bike Trail. What a beautiful ride. We saw a couple turtles, butterflies and other bicycle enthusiasts enjoying the peaceful, natural setting. Glad I support Rails to Trails. Agi & Ray

Well Shaded, Abundant Wildlife

June, 2020 by trenner_tl

Enjoy a early morning ride through the Shingle Creek Preserve and Sanctuary. Well shaded and nice wide path. During my ride saw several species NOC birds, snake crossing my path,, alligator in the one of the many lakes. Path ends just North of Carol Street however the path is being extended over Osceola Parkway and will exited and additional 30 miles.

Seminole Wekiva Trail

Pretty nice trail!

Really nice trail for a casual bike ride. Wide path, mostly covered by trees so you’re in the shade. Felt very safe on this trail, as a female. I’m giving this 4 stars because it’s not ideal for road biking. There are many intersections, so a lot of stopping and checking for traffic.

Kissimmee Trail Loop

Morning Ride

June, 2020 by trenner_tl

This morning I road the Northern Portion of the trail from N. Side of John Young Parkway to where the trail T off at Shingle Creek, The path isn't clearly marked however I met on of the Local which recommend the more scenic route. Please note that the official trail head go left (south) when you come to the T on the trail and then winds down under 192 and then East on the N Side of Kissimmee Airport to Central Blvd and then North Again. The trail on Central is mostly sidewall until you get 1/4 north of 192.

As I mentioned I went North and off the Kissimmee Trail which runs parallel to Shingle Creek Preserve . The path is mostly shaded and there is potential to see a variety of wildlife. According to the local I met he said that Kissimmee is in the process of extend the North Route over Osceola Parkway.

When the Path Y off before Osceola Parkway and I decided to Head South on West Carol Street and back to where I started on John Young Parkway. I am here visiting my daughter for the next few day therefore I will explore the Southern Route over the weekend and will post more.

South Lake and Lake Minneola Scenic Trail

Treat yourself to this amazing trail!

June, 2020 by maureen.maensivu

Start at the Killarney Station Trailhead & do the whole thing. Plan a stop at Lilly’s on the Lake in the way back. Rode during the Cornovirus social distancing time so Clermont’s gorgeous Victory Point was quiet but still impressive.

SR 415 Trail

Better down the road

June, 2020 by newbejoe

From the East Central Regional Rail Trail / ECG Corridor running south along the east side of 415, the trail starts out as a bumpy concrete wide sidewalk, running past Osteen Diner a short ways down, turning to smoother asphalt for the remainder of your journey. A few miles down is Beck Ranch Park. There you can get water, take a nature break, or just simply rest. A few miles after that, you will run into the St. John’s River where you will pass under 415, emerging on the west side of 415 to continue your journey south over the St. John’s to the current end of trail. You can take Celery Ave. into Sanford if you wish. Traffic is not too terrible. But soon there will be a connection with Sanford Trail tor trail completin

Lake Baldwin Trail

Great trail -make ride longer starting at Blue Jacket Park

May, 2020 by rhondarfitzgerald71

We did this ride on a Sunday morning at about 8:30am. It wasn’t super busy, nor too hot yet. We started by parking at Blue Jacket Park and riding over to Lake Baldwin Park. We rode around Lake Baldwin twice and then rode back to our parking spot. The starting point change gave us an extra mile round trip! Plenty of shade near the lake and some spots were a little higher to climb (I was riding a cruiser with no gears ¿¿). We will do this one again.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Edgewater to Maytown

May, 2020 by sandymo

We rode from Rotary Park 10 miles toward Maytown and returned. The trail is wonderfully maintained and a joy to ride. Not crowded at all on a Saturday, so I was very surprised. Very easy trail with a single overpass was the only “bump” on the trail we encountered. Both shade and sun but need to make sure to take water depending on the length of your ride. I’d highly recommend this trail for a fitness ride or to enjoy the nature.
