Nice walk on black top surface. South end is more scenic along the creek, but got some great pics north side of the spillway trail of some bald eagles patrolling the lake and lily pads.
Had a beautiful sunny day April 29, 2022 to ride the loop around the lake. Nicely maintained with various areas to stop for a rest or snacks! Rolling hills & curves so pay attention to negotiating biking ability! Lovely day for me!
We did this trail last fall and are looking forward to doing it again this summer
February, 2022. Winter walk along the trail. Great trail for walking, cross country skiing or even fat bike tire riding.
Lovely fall day with temps near 70. Biked from Orwell to Austinburg and back for a 30 mile round trip. Leaves were pretty much changed/fallen but as always, a fantastic ride on this trail!
Biked this trail at least once a week in the Fall to experience the fall foliage. Always a great ride though a beautiful State Park.
Chilly and breezy Fall day but the sun was out! Parked just off of Route 88 in Bristolville and rode down to South of Sunside and back then up to the Ashtabula/Trumbull county line. Round trip 30 miles. Leaves starting to change but not as much as they should be for this time of year.
Peddled this trail this week and it was a very enjoyable paved trail with alot of history along the way. The slope was a gradual incline to the Drake Well Museum and and enjoyable down grade back to the trailhead at Oil Creek State Park.
I have lived near this trail for a lot of years and changing seasons. Whether enjoying a bike ride in the rain as the cool mist drizzles on your face and wets the earth, Or a stroll through the leaves as the colors change and the leaves fall all around you with family, Donning a pair of snow shoes or boots or even cross country skis, as the soft white flakes softly touch down, Running on a warm and sunny day, with a breeze cooling your sweat glistened body- All this and the pure clean air and bright blue sky Enjoying the outdoors and yet still being in a small town area with all its charm and novel Amish neighbors All this and more is why I love this trail Year round! Walking your furry friend through the changing seasons, Catching a glimpse of an Amish buggy as you go, or a group of Amish children playing-shy, but curious onlookers,
This was our first time riding this trail. It was so peaceful and beautiful ride. At the North end is Drake Well that’s a must to see!!! They have a bike rack and very nice helpful people. We told “Vicky” that a tree was down on the trail and she let park rangers know to get it cleaned off the trail and thanked us for letting her know. We will be back!!!
