Historic Jungle Trail

Enjoyed this trail

April, 2025 by kimatmtr_tl

Our take on this trail, is we loved it! We started at the south end, stopped at the historic house and pier. The trail is a dirt road that travels along the Indian River. You really feel like you are back in the woods or in the country. The river is along one side and the back yards of these lovely homes are on the other side. There are beautiful golf courses along there as well. We have E-bikes, so we enjoyed the straight stretches to “open them up.” We rode north to the preserve and headed back.

We loved this little trail! Hit it in the morning while staying over on Vero Beach. Short but sweet!

Historic Jungle Trail

An ok road/trail but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

April, 2025 by kokomo36

The reviews on Trail Link were mixed but here’s ours! I wouldn’t go out of my way to ride this again. This is a mostly hard packed dirt road. It’s been scraped and wide enough that the occasional car can easily pass. A few soft areas and a lot of washboard sections. Some shaded and some wide open. A few turns and pretty flat. It does offer some views of very nice private homes and the Intercoastal Waterway. About half is open and half nicely shaded. There are 2 road crossings and one is busy Florida Route 510; be carefull here! We started at the Northern end where there is parking lot and a restroom. I plugged in “Bird’s Impoundment Trail” to lead me to the entrance road. The Trail ends abruptly at Old Winter Beach Rd. and A1A. The Trail is on the road built in the 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Along the road is the Jones Pier, the oldest pier in Indian River County; and Pelican Island, the first national wildlife refuge. A nice guide here: https://visitindianrivercounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Jungle-Trail-Map.pdf

Green River Parkway Trail

Nice trail but....

March, 2025 by reza2

Trail is nice and flat for biking. However if you are looking for a quiet ride, this is not the place. The trail is next to the road and traffic can be moderate to heavy so quiet noisy. You can ride on sidewalk/trail.

I took some video which I will post once I process it.

Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST)

Gate Locked

March, 2025 by ezrower

Entered the trail on the north end where US441 intersects. Access gated across trail do not accommodate people riding bikes. Too narrow and sharp turn. Headed east and came to the Taylor Creek entrance. Had to get off the trail through a private trailer park and head east on the adjacent road over the bridge. Just past the bridge is a road to re-enter the trail but there is a locked gate completely blocking access. Went back to our start point and gave up.

Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST)

Wide and Flat, from Moore Haven to Lake Harbor, but

January, 2025 by shumakers

Really nice ride from Moore Haven to Lake Harbor but you’re riding on top of an elevated dike so the winds are pretty strong. Also, you don’t see the lake until you almost get to Lake Harbor. That was a little disappointing. Tiki Bar and Grill in Clewiston a great place to stop for lunch

Scenic paved trail on the ridge

December, 2024 by colodneys

We parked on the north side of the Port Myaca dam and biked seven miles traveling north on the ridge of Lake Okeechobee. Then, we biked back. It was a wonderful ride on the paved trail. We saw one alligator, three racoons, caterpillars, birds and a beautiful view. We loved it and look forward to biking there again soon!

Green River Parkway Trail

Needs paving

I love the trail, but as an in-line rollerblader, it is VERY rough, uneven and dangerous at points. It definitely needs repaving ASAP!

Route A1A & A1A Urban Trail

a great trail

May, 2024 by rp2cvqzp2r

Four of us started on the north side entering from route a1a and parking in the lot. The conditions were perfect. Road had been recently graded, and since it hadn’t rained in a while there were no puddles. I’ve been on this trail by car previously. It was so much more enjoyable by bike. A lot of the trail is in the shade. And then wam! The Indian River lagoon is right next to you. There’s a historic area closer to the south end where you can stop. Where there are new/clean restrooms and you can enjoy the views from a public dock on the river . I highly recommend. Happy trailing :)
