Some interesting backyard views
We really enjoyed this trail as our first time . Very clean and comfortable one.
After riding the lower trail to the beach many times I decided to try the upper trail. I really didn’t like it. The homeless encampments and graffiti made the trail feel unsafe. I’m an adult male and I was uncomfortable, I can’t imagine being a female using this trail alone. Won’t use the upper trail again.
Firs time on the track today with my 1 year old and a bob stroller. Pretty comfortable, wide enough to run with the stroller + have room or other runners/walkers and bikers. Will come back. We parked in the arovista parking lot. Only slight challenge might be getting the stroller up the two flights of stairs.
Nice easy trail whole family can enjoy, a couple of bumpy spots not real bad.
Started at Parque Rió Hondo on the corner of San Gabriel and Rosemead. Went north towards El Monte. Rode with my family for about 4 miles and then turned back. Road trail was well maintained. Very little traffic given it was a Friday afternoon. Relatively scenic. There are several off road trails along the way but they are encumbered by homeless encampments so be aware. Try to moderate your speed in the bushy areas as there were several instances of rabbits crossing the road. You don’t want to have an accident in trying to avoid them. Would definitely do this trail again. Enjoy!
It’s been great!
I need to get off and on my bike again and again.
I have a bad foot and riding a bike has zero impact on it so I can go and go when trails are flat. I catch it right at the I-15 and Baseline. I'm happy.
Upper trail is about 18 miles one way. Trail condition are good, path is well maintained. Not the most scenic, but there were zero traffic intersections to negotiate. Most of upper riverbed was dry.
Pretty awesome bike trail From mountain to seal beach, there is plenty points can let you out and park your car there. More than maps shows. But in the middle, 18m ~ 13 there are some horse manures on the ground which stinks and make the road ugly and it seems nobody will clean them up. I spent about 7-10 trips to finish the whole. 6 miles round trip per trip since I do have friends to complete with
Counted 28 traffic light crossings and another 24 crossings with stop signs. However, very functional community bike transportation corridor. Paving good, but yes, it lacks restrooms.
