This is a very flat trail with good, wide pavement. The westerly half is particularly rural, skirting large cattle ranches with oak hammocks. There are no trees for shade. There are many birds on this trail - hawks, herons, killdeer, kingfishers, storks, egrets, etc. - and the occasional alligator. It’s a good trail for spinning. Be sure to wear sunscreen.
I pick up the trail at Destination Parkway and go all the way up to Oak Ridge (3 miles total). It's well maintained, and really quite beautiful and peaceful. I incorporate these two sections into my daily ride and love it every time! The Destination Parkway to Sand Lakr road section is 1 mile along a canal setting. Lots of Sandhill Cranes to be seen, and some snakes (be careful, they're pretty venomous), but never any gators, which I have seen on the Sand Lake to Oak Ridge section (2 miles) in the lakes/ponds. This is a popular multi use trail, so be aware of people walking/running.
Trail is in great shape.. nice view as you ride.. It is very short 8.5 mile round trip..
Trail is average.. no much to see.. 90% of the trail is next to a busy road... Trail is not road bike friendly... ok if you have mountain bike.. I will not recommend!!
Great for biking, skating, running, walking you name it. Nice wide paved path so there’s room for everybody. Scenic ride along the water with fun spots over and under bridges. Lots of benches and water fountains to stop at along the way.
This was an incredible ride! From the Bridge all the way to US1. This is a pavement and Gravel trail. I did 15 miles round trip to US1 and back over the bridge. I thought I was going to die going up the bridge on the way back. This is my longest ride to date. Been riding for 3 weeks now. Really enjoyed this ride today.
Road the trail today. 11 miles into the trail as you cross maytown road the trail is under water. Prevented me from getting to maytown spur. Beautiful ride. Sun and shade.
This trail is well maintained and is perfect for riders of all levels. There is also ample parking and a welcome center. I saw a family of deer and a large amount of flora.
I really liked this trail. It’s paved and wide. I wish there were bathrooms available though.
What a nice surprise. Parking available at the former Artegon parking lot on the corner of Oakridge Road and International Drive
Started at Johns young and went south. No good mostly sidewalks. Turned back to go north and after about 1 mike of trail it turned back to sidewalks . Not well marked. I would not recommend this trail at all
We parked our car at Harry T. & Harriette V. Moore Memorial Park which has facilities. We left the park and turned right on a Parker Avenue to pick up the Greenway Bike Trail. What a beautiful ride. We saw a couple turtles, butterflies and other bicycle enthusiasts enjoying the peaceful, natural setting. Glad I support Rails to Trails. Agi & Ray
