Devil's Fork Loop Trail

Went last month awesome

April, 2017 by willrobmac

One way road in, parking for no more than 7 cars without getting trapped in. No cell phone service but gps still worked. If you like water crossings (I think we crossed 12) and a sense of adventure this is it. Trees are tagged well with yellow paint. Water is freezing, I had to jump in. Not from the area but would love more trails like this. Little to no trash on trail.

Eisenhower Avenue Trail

Family-friendly ride

March, 2017 by laurastark

Our family, including my 7-year-old daughter, went on the trail last weekend and it's an easy and pleasant ride. We enjoyed the views of the waterway and the seamless connection to the Holmes Run Trail which heads to Ben Brenman Park, where there is additional parking, restrooms, and a playground.

Virginia Capital Trail

2nd time - we've bookended it

March, 2017 by jrutch

rode once here from the southern trail end in jamestown up 12.5 & back ... this time we started at the richmond end and rode 9 to dory park and back -- we'll need to go back and do the middle section one day .... anyhow this section is a little more "citified" than the other end - but great surface - it is hilly here (a little surprising) .... very few road crossings for going through a big city like richmond .. look for the big bike outside the city -- dory park was a good stop .. i wish there was a better trail guide for trying to plan a multi day trip

High Bridge Trail

wow - pretty cool

March, 2017 by jrutch

we started in farmville ... rode to rice ... went over the big bridge ... great surface ... the occasional restroom ... very very very (did i say very) few road crossings ... we want to come back and stay in farmville and do the whole trail eastward one day, westward the other (very doable as it would be about 30 or so each day as farmville is fairly in the middle)

Cross County Trail (VA)

Currently Flooded

February, 2017 by max12341234

This is a wonderful trail when it's not flooded. I would give it a 5 star rating if it didn't flood. However, it floods way to often. Currently 2/27/2017 it's flooded. Does anyone who to contact so that it can be fixed? They need to raise the concrete circles up about a foot.

After a rain, it always floods at the first crossing of Pohick Creek going north from Alban/Pohick Rd. This is the crossing just West of Godolphin Rd.

The third crossing of Pohick Creek (just East of SouthRun Rd. and Pohick intersection) is currently flooded. After running this trail for 3 years, I've never seen this intersection flood, but now there is a wide span of stationary water that is about 3 inches above the concrete circles.

Again, my recommendation is to raise the concrete circles about 1 foot to avoid all problems. This seems to be an inexpensive fix that will greatly increase the use of the trail. I'm sure people avoid this trail to avoid having to turn back due to flooding.

Suffolk Seaboard Coastline Trail

Suffolk Seaboard Coastline Trail

February, 2017 by hgabriel

This is a really nice trail through beautiful central Suffolk. Adjacent to the historic Driver Village it makes for a great destination spot. The last 1 mile leg from Shoulders Hill Road to the Chesapeake City line has been recently completed now making the trail 3.3 miles one way. You can pick up the trail either at the Driver Village location or the Townpoint Road trail head / parking lot which is located on Townpoint Road adjacent to the Chesapeake city line. Beautiful foliage, glimpses of wildlife; and birds and butterflies galore! Crossing the Quaker Neck Bridge is pretty cool as well. Wheelchair users will love the smooth flat paved surface.
