Rincon Bike Trail

Bring ear plugs

January, 2024 by dmurphy52

This short trail is a bit of an engineering marvel. Smooth pavement, beautiful scenery, and because it is within feet (separated by an impressive and artistic barrier) of Highway 101, very LOUD. Good luck if you're trying to have a conversation with a fellow rider.

Nice small capacity parking lot at the southern end. Very safe for a family outing, though a bit of caution will be needed in the one street crossing in La Conchita. At the northern end there is a beautiful park, suitable for picnics, and with nice ocean overlooks.

I ride about 20 miles/day, and found the trail a bit short, and a bit too noisy. One of my brothers, who doesn't ride at all on a regular basis, and who is less sensitive to noise than I am, found the trail "perfect". And there you have it!

Ventura River Trail

Like Paris-Roubaix

Nice trail but when I rode it this summer a large section was still covered in gravel from last winter's rainstorms and mud/rockslides. Not sure if it's been cleaned yet but if you are on skinny tires be prepared.

Fillmore Bike Path

Not Good At All

August, 2023 by happybug1025

It was an awful trail path for walking or biking. Too many people taking up the whole path, too many unleashed dogs, and Fillmore residents loitering on path as well as off to the side of path creepily watching girls and woman while drinking beer. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Trash left all over and people don’t pick up after their dogs. I can tell you for sure that I will not take this oath trail again.

Arroyo Simi Bike Path

Nice day's ride

February, 2022 by timwendyd

We started at the Simi Valley Metrolink. Parking on a Saturday was easy and plentiful. If it's a hot day, park in the shade. The path itself is nice. A bit rougher at the beginning, but when you hop over to the improved side, much, much nicer (that's at Vista Del Arroyo Park. Which has bathrooms and water BTW.)

The work they're doing to the river is looks great. If you're travelling from the Metrolink, you've got a few miles of river that's being worked on. It gets nicer as you go. We ended up at Stargaze Park, which is an open green space, great for a snack, but a little sparse on the shade. On the ride back, we decided to go past the Metrolink, but will skip it next time. At that point the river looks terrible (just concrete and trash) and the path is dirty. It really only adds an extra mile or so.

Calleguas Creek Bike Path

Locked Gate :(

October, 2021 by shannongirl01

I went to this trail the other day to rollerblade. After looking at pictures here I was really excited to finally have a place in TO to rollerblade I was sad to find that after maybe going half a mile there was a locked gate with what looked like construction on the other side.

'm not sure if the trail was just closed when I got there or if it's permanently closed, but it was a bummer to drive 20 minutes just to go back and forth on the part of trail available to me and zoom around the parking lots. If this is a fluke pls let me know because I want a place to rollerblade.

Ojai Valley Trail

Awesome rail trail!

I’ve been riding this trail a couple times a week since I found it. With very few interruptions or vehicle crossings, this is a great trail for settling in and peddling away.

The old Petro Chem plant which is pictured in the main photo is now (Oct. 2020) being cleaned up. The area is almost cleared and cleaned. What an improvement. Time for a new feature photo.

Ojai Valley Trail

Nice Way to Get to Ojai

October, 2020 by wbenshoof

I started at the Foster Park trailhead. At least on a Wednesday afternoon there was plenty of parking under the bridge just before you get to the trailhead. I was on an ebike and it was an easy uphill cruise, with a gentle slope, all the way to Ojai. When reaching Ojai I would recommend turning around at Montgomery Street. Trail gets pretty junky for the few hundred yards after that. Few

Perfect distance

I ride my electric scooter on this trail and I love it. The distance is perfect for me. I ride from Madera to Erringer, stop at the park, and ride back. Very enjoyable. I recommend it ¿¿¿¿
