July 18th 2021 Fun ride with lots of sights and history to take in. Rode with my Nephew, it is his local trail. Parts of our ride were awesome smooth wide trail and other parts were very rough narrow and bumpy. I will ride more of this trail next time that I am in the area.

If I could give it a zero, I would. That goes for any place (with the exception of animal preserves) that does not allow dogs. Dogs are not allowed at any of Berks county recreational parks except Antietam Lake.

Back Mountain Trail

not a quiet trail

July, 2021 by imdromeara

If you are looking for a trail with ambiance, this is not it. Unfortunately it’s placed above and next to a very busy road creating a lot of traffic noise. This trail is also not a loop, so you will have to turn around and walk back, through the noise of traffic. Probably a great trail for the local neighborhood but not one I will go back to from outside the area.

Buffalo Valley Rail Trail

Access Lewisburg parking off N. 15th just north of Wilson Alley

June, 2021 by ladyalchimia

Started at the Lewisburg end. Great trail, with moderately heavy traffic on a mid-June day. Ideal for my hybrid bike. As others have said, there are lots of road crossings. In the rural areas, be prepared for some dusty riding, as farm machinery crosses the trail frequently. Others have mentioned that the RT splits in Lewisburg, forcing you to cross a 4-lane highway; if you want to avoid that, park, as we did, just off N. 15th St., as there is a nice parking area for trail users, as well as a restroom. On the day I was there, a pop-up food stand greeted me when I finished my out-and-back. It's an urban area, so watch out for cars—speed limits seem to be mere guidelines in PA (I say this as a Pennsylvanian). Even pedestrians don't seem particularly safe from drivers.

Perkiomen Trail

Beautiful Trail

June, 2021 by genefitz

Very scenic along the creek. Most of the trail is nice and smooth but there are some sections that are kinda bumpy rough. Heading South, the section through Green Lane Park and the first few miles of actual rail trail are very choppy from horse traffic. It would be nice if they set it up like the Lower Trail with a grass lane just for horses. Below Collegeville there is a section where there is pipeline construction and the trail is kinda rough from construction equipment. Hopefully when they are done the construction company fixes the trail. I will be back to ride again.

Bushkill Township Trail

Plain Jane

June, 2021 by ronplimpton

Not much to look at. One straight shot without much shade along the pathway. Terrain was flat and solid so it was an easy walk, just not that interesting or pretty.
