Saucon Rail Trail

My Go To Trail.

April, 2021 by wmebert

Great trail to get your exercise on. Now it’s tied in with the Upper Bucks trail so it’s about 25 miles round trip. Scenic and quiet. Pass by the Saucon Valley Country Club, large “starter castles” in Weyhill, and ride as you meander by the Saucon creek. I love this trail and ride it quite often. There’s a slight grade going south that you really don’t notice until you head back north. It’s ever so slight but if you’re riding a bike you’ll feel the difference. Well maintained and clean. Highly recommend the Saucon Rail Trail.

Liberty Bell Trail (Coopersburg)

Has parking at both ends of the trail. Very wide walking trail, shaded area year round. Not enough trash cans for dog poop.

Liberty Bell Trolley Trail

April, 2021 by dzfinlayson29

This is a very quaint trail and is under a 1/2 mile, one way. If you start at Linden Street, continue to the end of the residential street past Liberty Bell elementary, and then go back to Linden, the total distance is under 2 miles. Nice residential area! If you are short on time, this is the perfect trail to try!

Swatara Rail-Trail

Just beautiful this time of the year

March, 2021 by karobino

If you are looking for something a little different with variation of trail bedding, this is it! Just enough of a challenge for a workout. Absolutely loved the views and now one of my favorite pa trails. If you are looking for an easy ride for the 10 miles, this is not it. So much to see and a few little side trails for exploring. So another visit can give different experience. Can’t wait to tackle this one again.

Schuylkill River Trail

great trail

March, 2021 by ford6668

Started at the trail end near Phoenixville did 11 miles towards Oaks. It was a beautiful day and not many people on trail. Most of the way the views were great and trail was very wide. Some hills but not to bad.

Just recently biked the Jermyn to Mellow Park section of the trail. It was beautiful and well maintained. Only issue was PARKING at Jermyn trailhead. I don't know where there would have been alternate parking nearby since the few assigned spaces were taken ( including some spots through the gate along the side of trail) (???) I parked, probably illegally, on the road adjacent to parking area.

Perkiomen Trail

The Crem de la Crem

March, 2021 by paulruns7777

I’ve biked on some of the best trails in Pennsylvania including the Heritage, Buffalo Valley, and Pine Creek but none of them are as nice as the Perkiomen! I started on the trail near Spring Mountain Ski Area which was still open despite it being a 60’s early Spring day. There’s a nice parking area there that is shared by trail users and skiers. If you start there, be prepared for a monster sized hill about a half mile up the trail, besides that it’s challenging but good for intermediate to advanced bikers with some small hills mixed in. The best part of the trail from where I started seems to be from Schwenksville to Collegeville, although I didn’t bike on the section from Green Lane to Spring Mount.

Conservancy Narrow Gauge Rail Trail

Crusty Snow, Cold Air, Pleasant Walk

March, 2021 by hp98512

Nice drive up out of the Susquehanna Valley, easy to locate trailhead with good parking. Trail is level, (signs say bikes okay on rail grade only - today we are on foot). Trail is wooded, a couple of side loops for interpretive and conservation information. There were 6 or so inches of snow with a frozen crust that broke through every 6th step or so, but it was quite enjoyable, and this early March Saturday afternoon we had it all to ourselves. We will come back later this spring and see how it looks with leaves. I held back one star because I prefer more rugged trails, but today this was just the thing.
