El Rio Trail

Nice trail with some street crossings that aren't that bad.

July, 2021 by davidehand

I parked my car in the Costco parking lot, and rode my bike to the trail from there. There were no major intersection to be crossed. Instead, the road crossings were on less busy parts. The trail is nice, but there a few parts with tree roots making the asphalt bulge a bit. The iguanas were pretty cool to observe even though I do believe they're an invasive species. There are some bridges you can go under, but you may want to be careful when it gets late because it's hard to see under them. Also, there was a sign warning that part could become flooded. So far, I would say it's a nice ride.

Historic Jungle Trail

Rode 10 miles

July, 2021 by billdudley

We were in the Vero Beach area so we rode the trail one morning after a rainstorm. Note that if this is the case, the sand/dirt trail might have some puddles on it. Some we were able to ride around and others we had to get off our bikes and walk through since we didn't know how deep they were. We parked and started at the Pelican Wildlife Preserve which worked out great with restrooms access. The rest of the trail is pretty woody through the hammocks and not really much to see until you get to the golf courses where you can see the backyards of large houses. Since we went in late June, it was hot, humid and sunny. Since we live in Florida, we were prepared but bring your water with you, there are no stations that we saw. We passed 3 cars the whole ride with one local flooring it down the trail splashing mud everywhere in her Volvo. We also got behind a lawnmower near the gold course. It was a nice ride and we can say we did it but not one we would go out of our way to ride again.

El Rio Trail

Great bike ride bring sunscreen

May, 2021 by crystalreichle

This was a very nice multi-use path. I tried to go tot he start at FAU but I couldn’t find the “guest” parking near the trail so I rode my bike starting at Countess de Hoernle Park (Spanish River Athletic Center). If you park there the path inside the park will lead you to T-Rex trail toward the Tri-Rail station and from there you can connect on to El Rio. I first rode to the north end of the trail which now goes to congress on the border of Del Ray/Boca. Then I rode to the other end which ends at Glades and then back to the parking area for a total of 12.4 miles. There are water fountains along the route and plenty of iguanas laying in the sunshine. I will bring the family back to ride with my kids. There are crossing gates across some roadways but they are well marked and have caution signals you can press.

Okeechobee Road Path

good trail but boring

May, 2021 by lalalesslie

Well paved and maintained! Very flat and not much to look at. Usual FL wildlife, we did spot TEN gators in the drainage creek alongside the path, which was cool! No shade, only one little store 5 mi from McDonald’s parking, so bring your own nutrition, water, & sunscreen!

Green River Parkway Trail

Agree with bassman bob's review

March, 2021 by timmyb1957

Basically, everything that he said was what I would have put in my review. Martin County (1/3) is better than St Lucie County (2/3) because of surface, shade, AND proximity to road. On the Martin side, you are probably 50-60 feet from traffic for most of it; on the other, you are about 10 feet. As a cyclist and a runner, the dips take a toll on your legs if you are not paying attention with every step. It would be very nice if they could extend this trail to the north across Walton Rd. and run along that for awhile but money's probably not there in today's budget. I'm also concerned about long-term maintenance. There's a big hole off to the side which actually touches the paved trail where they've put up a sawhorse to warn people from hitting it. So far, that's been there for quite a while with no sign of anything being done to repair it.

It's a nice place for locals, like me. It's nice to see people using it regularly. However, a round-trip is only eight miles, so don't spend a long time driving here to use it.

It is a beautiful spot if you are into wildlife. There is a pond right by the bridge which is at the county line and that pond has seen alligators, otters, wood storks, great blue herons, roseate spoonbills, and various others this spring!

El Rio Trail

great family bike ride

March, 2021 by skaminsky_2000

Paved smooth path with park benches. Saw iguanas and herons. Path crosses a few roads but all had cross walk lights to alert drivers. Lots of shade during our morning ride. Not crowded during the week. Only problem was figuring out where to park.

Lake Trail

Best Trail in WPB

March, 2021 by wadescottwilliams

This is one of the favorite trails, probably ever. It’s right next to the water, is plenty wide enough for walkers, runners, bikers etc. The length is perfect as well. There is so much beautiful scenery and many pretty homes to view also. If I lived there I would use this path several times a week.

Lake Trail

This is a beautiful Trail to cycle! My only complaint is, I wish it was the entire length of Palm Beach...¿¿

Vero beach area —- Jungle Trail

February, 2021 by mdelligatti1

Sat. Feb 14, 2021
I rode this trail today and it was really nice. The surface is packed sand and I had no problems riding on it with my smaller hybrid tires. In 15 miles I probably only had 5 total cars pass me . The scenery was very nice along the water and through the jungle. There were some areas with homes along the way.

Lake Trail

Nice and relaxed

February, 2021 by tbaileyva

We parked near the shopping center off Royal Poinciana Way. The trail goes underneath this road. After reaching the northern tip we meandered back along uncrowded city streets. Not for the speedy, the trail hosts many joggers and walkers, but the views make up for it.
