Nice trail offering a connection from Oil Creek State Park into Titusville. Goes along Oil Creek on one side and sporting events fields on the other side. In Titusville you will find many amenities including places to eat, breweries, small shops in town, and a hotel.
Enjoyable Fall foliage bike ride through the park. Started in Petroleum Centre and pedaled up to Jersey Bridge. From there we connected to the Queen City Trail and also visited Drake Well, the site of the first oil well in 1859. This trail is paved in very good condition with a few rough spots. Follows Oil Creek, water levels very low and some areas of the creek are just all rocks. Park office is closed weekends (it's off season) but there are composting restrooms across the road. Up at the Jersey Bridge end is a plastic restroom, seasonal.
Rode out 11 miles from Emporium toward St. Mary's (~22 miles RT). Beautiful scenery once you get out town. Several interpretive signs explaining the environment and history of the area. The trail is surface is mostly packed crush stone and is well maintained. Would definitely do this one again.
We accessed this trail in Franklin where the Allegheny River Trail ends. Seamless connection offers an additional 7 miles from Franklin to Oil City. Flat rail trail, paved, follows the Allegheny River. Historic signs and sights along the way. A little bit of shaded areas.
Everything south of Simmons road is spectacular. North of Simmons rd however has very minimal maintenance and do not recommend.
Rough.. big gravel ..but beautiful. So much wildlife. Beaver dams. A bear jumped on the trail in front of me about 50 yards.. I just waited as he walked away from me.
This trail goes through state game lands, is mostly shady and parallels an active railway. The active railway portion has some deep mudholes. It would be wise to start at Ridgeway as it is uphill to Brockway.
A shady path for a heat intensive day!
Started at Kane. The trail was unmaintained after mile 4.7. I then went to the Kinzua bridge state park and rode to 219. A nice trail
This is a nice and short little section of the Pittsburgh to Erie Trail System. Great for evening walks
I love this trail! It’s local and once you get 3 miles in there’s almost no traffic!
The PA portion is a decent greenway. The instant you cross into NY you see evidence of vandalism, 4-wheelers nearly run you over (they don’t slow down), multiple rotting deer carcasses dumped on the trail, piles of garbage, horrendous ruts & puddles from ATVs and my personal favorite: 2 young Amish having sex in the middle of the path. it was not the experience I was expecting at all! Do better New York!
