Began a hike from New Hamburg trailhead at 10 AM; temp around 30°. Trail in good shape; still frozen from previous night. Busy day on the trail; 16 fellow hikers! Spotted 4 bald eagles; 3 adults and 1 juvenile! Hiked 2 miles in and off-trail looking for access points. No downed trees or other obstacles.
My wife and I enjoy the trail so much we bought a small house in Franklin to spend the summers biking and hiking, We also enjoy the other trails in the area and can't wait for the completion of Erie to Pittsburgh. I have completed the GAP and most of the C&O trails and believe the Allegheny River Trail to be the cream of the crop.
Stopped at the trail to get in a quick 10 miles on the bike. Snow covered in some areas, and cleared in other sections. Nice trail no matter what the season.
It is a great trail firstly. A dangerous crossing , caused by a hill is on turner S. Turner Rd.? It could be safer by warning motorists the path is there? In my humble opinion. Maybe solar lights? Thank you for your time.
Nice warm Fall day 2020. We parked at Rockland and biked to Fisherman Cove and back and also some out towards Van. Trail has been cleared of the leaves. Trail is paved in good condition. Always enjoy riding this trail.
Rode the entire length of the trail through Ashtabula County to the Trumbull County line. Parked at mile 2 in Orwell and biked 24 miles up to Ashtabula and back and then down to the Ashtabula/Trumbull County line.
Trail is in very good paved condition and cleared of leaves.
Ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant steps away from the trail in Orwell. They are biker friendly. Even offer outdoor seating if you want to keep and eye on your bike.
Hiking during the recent week required the removal of many small trees either by handsaw work or simply moving to the side. Several trees on the Kidd's Mill section of the trail required chainsaw work late In the week. As of 11/21; trail all clear of tree obstructions the entire length.
Biked 30 miles early November. From Franklin to 12 miles South and back then up a few miles on the Samuel Justus Trail.
The trails association, AVTA, have cleared the leaves from the trail. They spent a good deal of time on cleaning up the fallen leaves and cleared the trail nicely.
Unseasonal warm temps and was able to get out and enjoy the trail.
We had a very warm Fall and it was great to get out and enjoy a fall ride. Biked from Countyline (Trumbull and Mahoning Counties) to Western Reserve in Canfield and back for a 25 mile round trip. Nice trail. The newly constructed tunnel under the OH turnpike is open. It's very nicely lit as well.
After biking on the connected Allegheny River Trail, biked this one from Franklin to Oil City and back. 15 mile round trip.
Did a 60k ride (40 miles). Dreary and cool fall day with sections of the trail covered in thick and heavy wet leaves. But overall, and as always, a great ride. Biked from Franklin to below Brandon and back then up to Oil City and back on the connecting Justus Trail.
