John C. Oliver Multi-Purpose Loop Trail

September Group Ride

September, 2019 by vicki1960

A group from the local trail association had a group ride. We enjoyed ourselves. Lot's of goldenrod fields along the trail and some leaves are beginning to change. Saw the osprey in their nest and one of the many Eagles that reside in the park. The new Children's Playground has been set up but is not open.

Oil Creek State Park Trail

Nice Ride-August, 2019

September, 2019 by vicki1960

We parked at Petroleum Center near the park office and biked up to Titusville where we accessed the connecting Queen City Trail into Titusville for lunch. Biked back to Petro Centre. Nice 20+ mile round trip. The trail is in very good condition.

Allegheny River Trail

September 2019 Ride

September, 2019 by vicki1960

Parked in Franklin at the Saltbox visitor center and biked to just South of Brandon and back which is 12.5 miles each way. Nice asphalt pavement the entire way.
At the 12.5 mile marker the asphalt ends. To continue on the trail you have to take a bumpy gravel dirt road for a few miles then the trail does pick up again at the Kennerdell tunnel for more miles of asphalt.
Basically flat trail follows the Allegheny River.
From Franklin the Belmar Bridge is approx 5 miles and go another 3.5 miles for Indian God Rock, on the National Register of Historic places.
There are no services along the trail so take plenty of water and / or snacks.
A nice 25 mile round trip is from Franklin to where the asphalt ends, and back. Franklin PA is mile 0.

Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

beautiful trail

September, 2019 by nathan.a.allen

We have done this trail multiple times and have always been thrilled with the greenery and condition of the asphalt. At mile five don’t miss the opportunity to take a quick jaunt down to the historic covered bridge.

Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

my favorite trail

August, 2019 by willikowal

This has to be one of my favorite trails around, since they finished the lower, repaved it by Leetonia is is wonderful, I also rode the Washingtonville part today which I had never done before, that was a hidden gem!

Butler-Freeport Community Trail

A little bumpy

August, 2019 by dewing1_tl

Road 8 miles from the trail head in Freeport. Level at first then after about 4 miles slightly uphill. Several washouts that were hard to negotiate and came up with little warning. Nice trail; not busy; everybody i met was friendly. It does need attention in the area i rode

Allegheny River Trail

Nice maintained walking trail at Emlenton end.

August, 2019 by guidosu22

I walk regularly on this trail from the Emlenton trailhead for mild exercise. I'll walk for a mile or perhaps a bit more before returning. I've also been on the Parker-Foxburg trail section but only once in a while.

As long and as far as I've walked it, it has been maintained in good shape; flat, paved and, except for maybe a fallen tree, free of obstructions. Winter, of course, you'll be in snow; it isn't plowed. Once in a while you might encounter the tractor mowing the grass along the side. The Emlenton trailhead has a portable toilet this year (2019); its been clean when I've used it. A trash can is also at the trailhead.

Emlenton has an IGA grocery store should you want snacks, and there is a pizza shop in town on the main road.

Sandy Creek Trail

One of my all time favorites.

August, 2019 by brodylittle

I've been biking this for almost 20 years. The Belmar bridge over the Allegheny River is one of the most spectacular views I've ever encountered while biking. This is truly one of my favorite trails. The trail sits a top of Turkey Run as it meanders back and forth below. There are so many great little bridges along this trail. A must ride in my book.

Ernst Bike Trail

Great little trail along French Creek

August, 2019 by brodylittle

Nice little picnic shelter at the beginning of the trail. Nice ride. Cool little covered bridge towards the end. Stopped at Timber Creek on the way home.

Allegheny River Trail

Very nice Trail w/one very small 3/4 mile of stone/gravel

August, 2019 by whattheheck7747

I drove 5 hours just to do this ride and was not disappointed. I stayed at the Barnard House B&B (very nice and clean, great breakfast), at the trail head. I rode this on my 54" High Wheel. This is a really nice trail to ride. Two long tunnels that are DARK, so make sure you have a really good light. Reflectors in the tunnels will help when the lights hit them.
Due to legal issues with a few land owners, the trail makes a short diversion of about 3/4 mile of gravel. IF you are using a road bike, you should walk it, if using a trail bike, you will be fine (I had to walk my High Wheel, took about 25 minutes to do each way).
There is a small section that the tree roots have uprooted the asphalt, but it's just a very small section. Regular bikes will be fine
I still give this 5 stars.

Ernst Bike Trail

August 2019 Ride

August, 2019 by vicki1960

Nice trail on a beautiful summer day. Trail is approx 5 miles in length. Rode it back and forth twice to get in 20 miles. Goes through open areas passed cornfields and wooded areas. Trail is mostly shaded, and kinda on the buggy side so wear some bug spray! You will see sections of French Creek along the trail.
Flat and fast asphalt pavement.

Western Reserve Greenway

Always a nice ride!

August, 2019 by vicki1960

We frequent this trail a few times a year traveling about an hour to get here. Worth the trip.
Parked at the Sunside Trailhead on 305 and biked through Trumbull County to the Ashtabula County line. We continued into Ashtabula County a few miles to Orwell. Then biked back. Approx round trip 27 miles.
Trail has some areas of new pavement (2018) and goes through open farmland areas, offering full sun, and closed wooded areas shaded by trees.
Trail is virtually flat though at times you may notice slight grades.
