Withlacoochee State Trail

Great trail for beginners to professionals

September, 2020 by tama.brian

This trail for me is perfect, I am a brand new biker in my late 40’s and my wife is as well. She is an experienced tri-athlete and knows her way around a bike. This particular trail is all paved at least for the 15 miles we have traversed as well as the off shoot “good neighbor trail”. You have 1 place for water and rest rooms at the 6 mile marker if you start on state road 301 north of Dade City. We have 20oz water bottles and that for me on these hot days is not nearly enough. I am looking into purchasing camelbak style packs to have plenty more fluids. That is my only issue, little hills, big hills and everything in between. Highly recommend trying this trail.

A great find in Florida and the best part is there’s lots of shade! Loved it!

Nice, flat trail

August, 2020 by rrahrig007

Rode from Inverness trailhead south to Floral City and back. Also north a few miles and back. Saw one deer and one squirrel. Nothing special, but not bad either. If you’re looking for a place to ride for exercise this will work.

Saturday in the Park....

August, 2020 by elckook

Started at Fort Cooper area (off 41) and headed North toward Inverness. Great ride! Inverness is a quaint little town nestled right on the Trail and Waterfront. Farmer’s Market, water stops, restaurants in Inverness Square, David’s World of Cycle on the Trail, and beautiful Florida landscape and natural habitants

Skyway Bridge Trail

great time

July, 2020 by jeffdeitrick60

Beautiful waterside drive. Parked at maximo Park. Wandered around there a little bit and then hit the trail. Some of the trail , the water is hidden. Conditions were great. Very smooth trail. Enjoy

Skyway Bridge Trail

I only wish it were longer. About 7 miles round trip. We parked at Maximo Park. Be careful crossing underneath 275.

Skyway Bridge Trail

Beautiful but noisy

July, 2020 by lindsey.a.eaton

We went during the even to watch the sunset and see the skyway lights. I’ve biked this trail twice in the evening (7-9pm) during the week. If you choose to park at the rest stop just be aware that you will have to bike on the road to get to the trail. That area is quite busy on the weekends with people fishing, kayaking and doing water sports, so we preferred to go when it’s not as HOT and with less traffic. The trail is close to Maximo Park. That’s the closest parking to the trail in the South side or you can park at the rest stop off of I-275. Maximo Park closes at sunset although they seem to keep the gates open later than that. We road from Maximo and a little further than the map indicates and it was almost a 10mile ride round trip. There are 2 bridges and from one of the bridges you can see the skyway. Beautiful scenery as the trail is a long the water half of the way. The only downfall is the trail is right next to I-275 so it can get pretty noisy.

Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail

Great, safe trail!

July, 2020 by vickitaylor1

Lots of things to see including primates! You can make extended trips by going to parks, beaches, out to lunch or on the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs. Great trail!

Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail

summer ride

June, 2020 by kcecil926_tl

Fantastic ride, even on a hot summer day. A stop in Dunedin for lunch and gelato at the bike store made it even more enjoyable. Not as much scenery along the way but lots of great stops in the small towns.

Courtney Campbell Trail

Pretty nice trail

June, 2020 by jbuckner2011

My fiancé and I liked this trail because it was a change of scenery for us. We typically go to Flatwoods trail. The breeze from the bay and wide open spaces looking over the bay between Hillsborough and Pinellas was really nice. There are two bridges you have to go over. One much bigger than the other. They offer a nice midway challenge. We parks at Ben T Davis and went all the way to the other side and back. At total of nearly 16 miles.

Fort Desoto Island Park Trail

Great trail

June, 2020 by redroctruc

I have been going to this trail for years. A while back, it was free to enter the park other than a small toll to get there ($0.35). I started parking at the baseball facility a couple of miles before the park entrance and rode my bike in for free. The path into the park is as good as the path in the park and adds some mileage to the ride.
