Orlando Urban Trail

Pedestrian Trail

April, 2020 by mpreed62

Would definitely consider this more of a pedestrian trail and have rated it as such. It’s short, but does allow you to connect to areas off of Orange Ave and downtown if you want a spot to eat, etc.

Cady Way Trail

Urban Trail for Sure

April, 2020 by mpreed62

If you’re looking for a quick jaunt and don’t mind an abundance of stop signs, this will be a decent trail for you. The trail tends to be more crowded than others and is slightly narrower in some points. You are truly sharing your outdoor time w everyone: bikers, joggers, walkers, etc. There are better trails, but this can do in a pinch. The connector to Cross Seminole at Howell Branch and Aloma is a plus for a longer ride.

Cross Seminole Trail

OVIEDO to Central Winds Park

April, 2020 by mpreed62

This is the second portion of the trail. It is wonderfully treed, and essentially flat for a great ride. There are stop signs along the way, so you need to be careful, but the great thing is that they are 4 way stops and so cars tend to wait for you as you cross, giving you a mostly continuous bike ride. Did this during a weekday so wasn’t crowded at all.

Lake Apopka Loop Trail

great trail

April, 2020 by ellemccomas

Love this place, so much wildlife and such a beautiful breezy ride. Wasn’t sure how to get the the other trails though? We decided to turn around at pump house, that was enough for us seeing as though we are beginners.

Odd Trail

March, 2020 by pierceja

Rode this trail a couple times. It just seems to be a collection of three circles that intertwine. You just keep going in circles or in my case, connecting two loops with a figure 8. Confusing trails here. This trail is okay. Surfaces are good and plenty wide but not very pretty.

Santos Trail

We had walked at Santos on the forest trails and always enjoyed the beautiful forest. After it was paved we decided to bike it. We did our first ride yesterday. Beautiful ride, great pine smells and birds singing their songs!!

West Orange Trail: One of the Best

March, 2020 by dahogan

Few trails offer the variety of scenery that the West Orange Trail provides. It breezes through tasteful urban, suburban and small-town vistas near Orlando. The trail is wide, clean, and well maintained. The West Orange Trail has something for everyone, with great restaurants in downtown Winter Garden, excellent trailheads, canopies of shade, and charming suburban neighborhoods.

General James A. Van Fleet State Trail

My favorite Florida rail-trail

February, 2020 by rim27

Rode the Van Fleet RT Feb 21-22, 2020. Combined with the semi-rural
Aburndale TECO trail the distance is 35.6 miles. If you like nature you'll
love the Van Fleet. Fully paved with mowed lawn on sides, then cypress
swamp and longleaf pine forests of the 322,690 acre Green Swamp Preserve. Saw a bobcat, a small snake and plenty of birds. From Park on
SR 33 in Polk City there's access to Aburndale trail going south and the
Van Fleet north. Parking at north end in Mabel take 121st Ave off route 50,
a 100yd long lumpy dirt road to nice parking area.

Withlacoochee State Trail

Worthy Ride

February, 2020 by jstasey

Rode entire length northbound on a Thursday morning in February. Busy trail: walkers, road bikers and many recumbent bikes. Trail was in very good shape with occasional short bumpity sections and a few divots at edges. Lots of benches. Well marked. Easy to find trail access points. Beautiful park in Inverness. Would definitely ride again.

South Lake and Lake Minneola Scenic Trail

Nice trail!

February, 2020 by bertrock

Very nice, wide trail with lots of beautiful views of the lakes. Also there are opportunities to go off the trail into the town of Clermont. Some reviewers commented about the hills... there are some decent hills for Florida on part of the trail, but they're not bad.
