Highway 237 Bikeway

Not a trail to specifically go to, but..

February, 2018 by david.belmares

It's a decent connector path to get between the Bay Trail, the San Tomas Aquino Trail, and the Guadalupe River Trail.

Los Gatos Creek Trail

Great trail

February, 2018 by david.belmares

I love this trail, as do many other bikers. Going northbound is especially fun as it's a slow descent. And at the same time, going southbound is not hard either. If you live in Los Gatos or Campbell this trail is usually the best route for going places to the north or south.

One thing that could be improved (but isn't a huge deal breaker), is that the north end of the trail is not connected to the Guadalupe River trail and requires some street riding for a short distance (1 mile or so)

Guadalupe River Trail

Great trail, but...

January, 2018 by david.belmares

This trail is great. It's well maintained for the most part, has good signage, but going under Downtown San Jose on this route, there's lots of homeless living there, and lots of trash. But overall I'd give this trail 4 stars.

Stevens Creek Trail

Cupertino one is small trial - not for long distance

January, 2018 by vijkumrag

It is around 1.25 miles stretch. Good for kids and for small stroll.. if looking for long distance, forget about this.

Ohlone Greenway

Improves Community

November, 2017 by mhdlfa1

The start of the trail in Berkeley leaves much to be desired. A clean up and improvements to update the trail for overall safety and as a community attraction is needed. Better signage should be mandatory. Almost gave this trail a 3 star rating but soon as you are in the Albany/El Cerrito areas the environment is different in a very good way - well maintained, clean, no vagrants ( I rode the trail midday on a Sunday) , used by pedestrians & cyclists. Evidently enjoyed by the community. Being right next to BART is a plus - helpful for commuters and cyclists wanting to explore other areas.

Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail

Camping on the coast

September, 2017 by edfratus

I was traveling north on Highway 1 when my artist's eye led me down to the beach. The beauty of the white sand beach and wind swept trees prompted me to pitch my tent and make a painting. It is truly a beautiful place and urge people to come see this place themselves.

Alameda Creek Regional Trail

biked 23 miles

August, 2017 by raj_tiru

This is a well maintained trail, great for biking and running. Although the mile points are not that clear on the trail, a gps device can give you good estimation of the distance. You will see lots of birds, and probably other wild life.

Guadalupe River Trail

Did the south portion

August, 2017 by bekahjoy.medina

Great for an evening run. The river/creek is full this time of year I guess. Tons of people out walking dogs and riding bikes. It is still light out even at 8:30pm. No homeless on this section of trail.

Lands End Trail

Incomparable Views

July, 2017 by mhdlfa1

As a resident of San Francisco, I have enjoyed this trail many times because of the ocean views. Usually on foot but have done some of this trail on a bike. The paths can be steep and narrow making this trail a difficult one for some. Windy and cold most days. Must wear appropriate footwear. Spectacular sunsets!

Lake Merced Loop (San Francisco)

Easy Ride In The City

July, 2017 by mhdlfa1

Been riding this loop for many years as part of my route from Ocean Beach. It's an easy ride around the lake. Path can get crowded as it is shared with pedestrians and street traffic (on sections of the loop) is close by causing noise. Still a nice ride around a lake within the city.

Iron Horse Regional Trail

One of the Bay Area's Best

July, 2017 by mhdlfa1

Great trail for training long distance riding. Would take BART from SF to Dublin and start my trail ride there up to the end in Concord near Martinez. My round trip on this trail included stops for food in the very accessible markets and restaurants along the route. Riding through different towns makes the ride more interesting and gives a cyclist the feeling of safety. Well planned trail. Wish it would extend in either direction.
